The process for maintenance is the same!
The process for maintenance is the same!
You can't take this system straight out of the box and take it to a job, It's extremely important that you let your RO Membrane saturate before use! If you don't, you won't be able to achieve the results you want and will be exhausting your DI Resin. Sometimes, it can take up to 12 hours for the RO Membrane to fully saturate!
To properly saturate the RO Membrane, hook your system up to a garden hose and let the water run through it for 10 to 15 minutes. Turn the water off and let it sit. Ideally, let it sit overnight so the membrane has plenty of time to saturate so your system will work as it's supposed to!
Note: RO Membranes can vary in the time they require to become fully saturated.
Carbon Pre Filter
Maintaining your Carbon Pre Filter is extremely easy! We provide the tools you need to replace your filter, so you can keep your filter in tip-top shape. You should change your filter whenever you get a clog or there is a significant slowdown in water production.
Simply loosen your filter housing using the provided filter wrench, you won't need to turn it far since the housing isn't too tightly in place. Take off the bottom of the housing, take your old filter, toss it out, and pop in a new one. Use the supplied lube to lubricate the housing o-ring seal, then put it back on your system.
Caution: You do not need to tighten this housing down anything beyond a snug fit. Do not overtighten!
Your TSD Meter will tell you when your DI Resin is spent and needs to be changed. You should always change your resin at 10 parts per million, any further and you might end up going back to clean spots off the windows left from water that isn't 100% pure.
Use the larger filter wrench that is provided to loosen the DI housing from your system. The bottom portion will come right off and inside is your refillable DI Cartridge. Unscrew the top of the cartridge and remove the foam filter. Clean out the old resin, put in some nice fresh resin, and you're ready to go!
Note: It's important to lubricate your o-rings before resealing any filter housing.
