What vehicle would you recomend?

I want to thank Chris for posting this pic of my rigs for me.Also to let everyone know my rigs are pretty much identical both pure watered out capable of doing anything up to 3 stories.

I would also like to thank Shawn from “Reach Higher Ground” for supplying with 2 of my 4 WFP’s i have as well as the Cox reels for my 2nd rig(just got it dialed in recently),as well as a majority of my fittings to make it possible.

Each truck has 75 ft of inlet hose & about 375 ft of outlet hose so…i can wrap around some fatty gigs with room to spare. Both rigs have 2 mixed bed resin tanks (running in concession) ie:scrubber & polisher.

Now…we’re ready to Rock & Roll this spring;)

Thanks for the advice Louie.

Nice set-up Craig.

Craig, looks like you have a pretty sweet set up.

Thanks fella’s! Yeah they serve us well, basically i also wanted to add that there both 2001 Toyota’s (extended cabs) 4 cyl. they get pretty good gas mileage inspite of how loaded down they are.

In the past i’ve pondered bigger trucks Chevy/GMC but…with the price of gas going through the roof…i’m glad i stayed with the Toyota’s.

How much did this set-up cost? I’d like to something similar to my Dakota. I have a ladder rack, but I’d like to get the pure water setup also.

Basically…it depends on what your trying to accomplish? The reels you can get from Shawn @ reach higher ground 200.00 each (you’ll need mounting hardware) a few more bucks there, then…you have your hoses inlet(i run 75’ 3/4" garden hose) & outlet (i run goodyear plyovic 3/8" )also…hose for the reels thats 3/4" G.Y. horizon …roughly 250.00 & up??

Then depending on what type of pure water system you go with will dictate cost from there ie: D.I. tanks is the route i went of course i “pull hose” i dont deal with carts etc.so…it just depends?

Then you have poles (the delivery system) so once again Shawn site will be helpful there.

Plan on around 800.00 to a 1,000.00 if you want to get a “dialed in” set up.

astro van with stack ladders for sure.

Thanks for the info Craig. I’ll check out the Reach Higher Ground website for further info.

hey everyone,
im new to this group but ive been reading up on everyones posts. i like how everyone is so comfortable on here. another one im a member of is kinda tight on what you can write and how you write it.

so i started about a year ago doing storefronts, i havent gone full time yet, just kinda feeling it out. i want to get into houses, awning cleaning, bird control and power washing. my question is about a van. i think im going to go with an astro van, i wanna put a water tank in it for the awning claning and watever else it might be useful for. in anyones opinion, is this a good idea? does anyone know anything about it? Maybe like how many gallons can cover what? or maybe a different truck or van? any kind of advice or opinion or suggestions would be very appreciated. Like i said im new and this is a big step and decision for me so i want second opinions or more experienced opinions.

thanks in advance everyone

Got Glass?

Welcome!

I mean this sincerely, but do you have the cart before the horse?

Are you sure you would have the type of customers and amount of business available to support the set-up you describe above.

You don’t necessarily need a water tank to provide the services listed above.

Do you have a documented business plan and budget?

P.S. Any legal issues with the got milk? copyright?

I use an astro van… its on it way out I am looking in to a pick up truck. Can anyone tell me draw backs to a pick up truck?

the route I took was to buy a small station wagon. I bought a 1996 ford escort LX wagon. Its easy as can be on gas, will fit a full set of ladders plus all my equipment, has roof racks, looks good, and best of all, you can lock up all your tools inside overnight, and be fairly confident that all your stuff will be there in the morning.

p.s. this will do fine unless you need to carry a 40 footer, then I am s.o.l.
