Personally, even if there isn’t any visible mold/mildew, I always use some bleach. It helps break down other organic contaminants, like bird droppings and whatnot. Plus, some types of growth just look like dirt buildup.

Oh, and DON’T USE DAWN IN YOUR MIX! In case you were planning on it. It can cause big issues with certain siding.
