So what did you take away from this year's NOLA event?

Something I think I kinda already knew but was reafirmed during NOLA:

Thad’s event was was cooler/better than the other window cleaning “event” going on during the same time.

So your previous comment about not thinking you would learn anything is retracted?

I don’t remember saying that but if I did than yes it is retracted

-I know that its hard to attend classes when your sitting in an urgent care clinic with bronchitis

-I will be on the front row next time the guy from Finland speaks on glass fab debris

-I know that Chris can throw a set of beads with laser like precision and is a germaphobe

-Alex knows the key to any smart business decision is to know where to buy in bulk

-Some people on Bourbon St. are “very friendly”

-Currently trying to figure out how to device a “poop bag” like they put on horses that I can attach to sperm whales

Oh my goodness I did forget some…

I’ve learned Jeremy is the man…
I’ve learned that I love Ausies, AND Thier amazing poles
I’ve learned his name is Harry tait, not hairy taint…

And just for future reference, I don’t believe I have ever watched an entire episode of Jersey Shore. I forgot Jersey can sense Jersey.

Wow!! What an amazing experience!!

I learned that Kevin Dubrosky can eat a hamburger faster than anyone I’ve ever seen before.
I learned that Michael Mole Certainly has a better half, (Heather is as sweet as honey), still love you Michael, even though you said “Wow you’re old enough to be my Dad”!
I learned that LSMain is as eager to learn as anyone I’ve ever met!
I got to talk to Dave Yogi in person, and that was cool.
I learned that Larry LLacko is as genuine as a person can be.
I learned that Jason Evers gets better and more passionate about helping others every time I hear him speak
I learned that Jim Beggs is the man when it comes to setting up an Ipad to do real business!!
I learned that I could listen to Kevin give a talk every day and never get bored.
I learned that the new pole from Perry Tait is AWESOME!!
I learned that Cody and Cole are as smart as they are cool California Dudes
I learned that Matt Damon (the little time we spent together), is a great guy
I learned that Andrew Walker is as nice as he is Tall!!
I learned that April Dodson really wants to do what she can to help you.
I learned that I really felt fortunate meeting all of y’all, and cant wait to spend some extended time talking and getting to meet y’all next year!!!
I learned that Micah and Jeremy really know what they are talking about
I learned that Kurt Kempton see’s the problems we all have, and really see’s ways to solve them.
I learned that Garrett Pfarr is going to make a huge difference in the window cleaning market in his city
I know that I’m missing talking about everyone I’ve met, and know I want to apologize, because each one of y’all made a great impact on me!!
I know that I cant wait till next year!!
Great job Thad!!!

Charlie

I learned I should sell a kidney if needed to make it next year.

Tony,

It was all that!! Excellent info, Excellent speakers, Excellent meeting everyone!!

Charlie

I feel bad for all the people who said “next year for sure”.

Now they have to wait 12 months.

I really need to meet this Garrett Pfarr guy… My fiancee is rolling her eyes as I print these out and frame them above my desk.

Jason Evers - "Be the 5% (who will take home the ideas and actually put them in action)."
Matt Damon - "That’s what food costs, right?!"
Alex - Green!! Green!!..whip…Sparkles!!! Sparkles!!!..whip…Grandma!!!..Grandma!!!..
Michael Mole - "You’re giving me money. Of course I’ll show up at your home, tomorrow!"
to Justin Monk - “I’ll be in a taxi in 5 minutes and leaving without you.”
Kevin Dubrowski - “That’s genius!!” - to me…and I have it on tape, suckas!!
Gary Mauer. - “I bought this presentation program…” Bahaahahahahaaaaaaaa!!!
Larry (Diamond Ridge) - “I only trust myself…” - Oh, Eddie :frowning:
Kurt Kempton - Gross Profit Margin.
Michael Tessaro - Convinced me I don’t want to have a large (more than me) business.

If you want to know what I’ve learned, ask to see my Evernote files…and dropbox folder…and backlinks report…and budgeting list…and marketing ideas…and employee management protocol…and my pressure/house/roof washing secrets/mixes…and eddm list…and my “how-to-wow” ideas…and my way to know my client before they’ve even met me…and my smile…and my results…and my measurements…and how much I pay for water.

Do you feel you’ve missed something? Then you weren’t at NOLA.

I’ve learned “you droped something” may be as fun as throwing beads for other reasons.

I learned Jeremy has an extreme love for motor boating

Kevin, you assume that we all flew. . .

Business:

I learned. . .
–how important it can be to have a precise budget laid out.
–about pressure washing and roof washing. I knew generalities before I went down. I went from 0-60 in one day on Thursday. Thanks Micah.
–three questions that I will be asking my best customers this year, and why that is so important.
–that I don’t have to go huge to achieve my family’s financial goals
–more about FD
–the import of following-up with each customer. We’ve done thank you cards, but we need to try and learn from them as well.
–that I don’t want to be a computer programmer/SEO specialist. That is one thing I suck at.
–that if our customers are thrilled with our service, then our price is fair.

Just glancing through my notes, those are the lessons that I can easily implement now that will help our business succeed this year.

Personal/Miscellaneous:

Lessons learned…
–I need a new phone number. I feel like I’m overpaying for everything now.
–Guys from the northwest (Garrett, Micah, Kiva) are cool enough that you wish you lived nearby. But then you realize having them as competitors in your market would be killer, so you’re glad they’re on the other side of the country.
–Kevin’s playboy millionaire image isn’t fooling me anymore. Don’t assume that a guy who writes “$600/hour” is concerned about making a lot of money.
–Charlie Laurie is a generous, kind man.
–I shouldn’t refer to “the Civil War” in conversations with historical home curators in NO. (Correct Phrase: The War of Northern Aggression.) Oops.
–If I miss my alarm and over sleep for an hour, there’s no reason to rush/run to get there by 9. Chances are the program won’t actually start until 9:30. (Also: don’t worry. The doors will never be shut, and you’ll never be locked out.)

That’s all I got for now, Kevin.

Lol about the “War of Northern Aggression.” Southern boy here…but I’m glad to have so many cool Yankee friends.

(Yankee meaning anyone born or currently living outside of GA, NC, SC, TN, TX, LA, MS or AL. Lol. Yeah, sorry Virginia, I think you’re Yankees. You too, Florida.)

I learned that if you want to sneak in and be an extra in a movie don’t hold out your iphone taking video of the actors as they are going by. It’s a dead giveaway you’re not supposed to be there.

Geez reading all of these posts… Really kicking myself for not looking into this more.

Kevin, Michael, Chris, justin, thank you very much for the kind words. The opportunity to meet everyone at the event was the best thing that has happened to my company since we have opened. The motivation I get from just being able to talk shop with the people I look up to and communicate with through the forum, it was just amazing. It was great to be able to spend time with like minded people trying to accomplish the same thing as I am. The information I was able to leave Nola with is priceless. I just want to say thank you again to Thad and everyone else who had a part of putting the event together, I will never miss this event in my life. Everyone who I got a chance to talk to and spend time with, thank you is not enough. I hope I can do something to contribute more next year. Anyone who did not make the event, do WHATEVER you can to be there for 2013.

What movie were they shooting? I never could find out…

The vh1 show thing? Or was that different?

Movie called now you see me, look it up online it has a bunch of famous people in it.
