I’ve been on the edge about joining. I don’t want to start more social media that I can’t keep up with. Keep us posted on how it goes. Is there snap chat for businesses or are they all set up as personal accounts?

If you’re gonna use social media, it has its place… snapchat may be pushing it.

Instagram would be good, plus they have that snapchat-like feature now so you can basically have the 2 for 1 and also have before/after pics of jobs and all that Instagram has.

I really should start a business Instagram, I keep saying I will and then not doing it.

I dont think anyone really checks out my business instagram but I do like the way it makes pictures, especially the side by sides for before and afters. I use the pictures that I post there for other forms of marketing. (not that I’m not capable of making a side by side picture, its just easier in instagram)

I follow your Instagram and I’m always searching the window cleaning related hashtags

When I first read the title i was like…“really… I thought snapchat was 14 year old girls talking selfies…”. lol

Yeah I think snapchat tends to have a very immature audience. Instagram is slightly better.

I’ve still only garnered one business call from my Instagram, but I believe linking your IG profile on your website does improve SEO.

My 15 yr old stepson is always on Snapchat. I asked him if he is on Facebook. He said Facebook is for old people. So funny!

Are you going to deal with customers through instant messaging? That seems like a nightmare.

Yeah, I hate conversing with customers through messenger, angies list app, yelp app…

So don’t do it. How much value is instant messaging going to bring to your business versus the headaches it will cause?

It is like Twitter. I don’t see us ever setting up a Twitter because once you do you can never go back. Plus the only time a customer will contact you on twitter is because of a problem. Then the whole world knows about whatever issue your having.

Sometimes its just a necessary evil with the form of marketing you use. If you market on FB, angies list or yelp… you have to deal with it.

How is having a Snapchat or Twitter nesessary?

You don’t have a choice about being on Yelp or Angie’s List. You do about the others.
