Small vacuum for nasty tracks?

Oreck XL commercial Pro 5 canister vacuum, got it this spring nice and Compact and lightweight. It’s been quite good for Sills and tracks, but you can’t beat the pro team coach vac for power and hands-free operation. That’s what I have been using for the past 15 years definitely worth the money and it’s very versatile I would pinch my pennies for a while and invest in one of them

I think for a dedicated window cleaner this would be way over kill for some tracks.

imo smaller the better

Just picked one of those dewalt vacuums up and plan on using it on multiple house jobs. Amazon also sells a mini kit for hose attachments meant for car cleaning but they’d be great for windows that need the extra detailing

I have a shark euro pro which is extremely quiet hand held with a hose as well. Doubt they make it anymore. I find it a pain to pull out and use, find a plug etc…so don’t even carry it anymore. What I do now is use a squirt bottle to wet the track, paper towel to wipe out and toss in plastic bag to contain the mess. Then if need be final spritz an wipe with cotton towel. Works great and no noise to disturb client and much quicker.

18v. Don’t be confused by the 12v vacuum. Totally worthless. I LOVE Milwaukee tools… but the 12v vacuum is the worst Milwaukee tool I own.

I used the dewalt , batter last about 30 minutes . Cord end is wide so can’t go into narrow deep tracks . Buts it’s good and strong on wide tracks. Overall it’s ok , I think the dison is better , but there battery life is really short

I do want to get a Pro Team eventually. Especially for our couple janitorial jobs. Thanks for sharing what model you use!

What do you think of the dewalt?

Yup, this one is 18v… Powerful and last pretty long with 3ah battery.
Also comes with extensions to be used as a standard wand vacuum.

I find this to be a must for tracks:

I use it with my Milwaukee. It is a tight fit (on the hose), but absolutely great for nooks and crannies.

It’s OK. I’ve only used it a couple of times at customers homes. I like the portability of it.

It’s rare for us to have to use a vacuum on a customers house but this comes in handy when it’s needed.

my last window cleaning job he used a backpack vacuum. i didnt like it because it plugged into the wall and it was pretty loud. potential to bump into a lot. i wish i had used just a handheld vacuum with good battery life. but a vacuum is pretty handy for getting out all of the dry debris and dirt and once most of that is taken care of you can just take a crap rag and do the detail work. quickest way i know of especially if the whole track is packed with dirt and bugs. Good question!

That’s exactly what I use can’t beat it

Where did you find that track brush?

ABC window cleaning supply has them, probably not only them.

Overstock dot com has a few of these left. Good price on a good portable vac.

I bought the Milwakee battery operated vac that is shaped like a toolbox. I’ve used it for three weeks now, and I really like the unit. I already use Milwakee tools, and this fits the bill for a good battery powered vac. Still like my small corded unit for bigger jobs, but this new milwakee does a great job when you just are doing quick cleans.
