Ro/di pressure

Hi all. I thinking about buying a r/o unit to attach before my di to save money. I keep hearing that adding an r/o unit will slow the pressure. Anyone heard of this? If so what has anyone done to increase pressure?

I run my Wash It Pro with RO AND DI pretty much always. I get about .75-1gallon per minute using both. You could add a pump before the RO as long as your RO membrane can support whatever pressure pump you use.

This spring I am switching to a buffer tank system for my Wash It Pro.

Yes, adding an ro membrane will indeed lower the pressure going into the next stage of filtration, in this case di.

What pressure reading are you starting with? The answer to this question will dictate whether or not you will need a booster pump.

40 psi is fine for a di because there is no restriction . A ro needs at least 80 psi if its the axion hf5 80 psi low pressure
which is the standard in most units Also you need chracoal and sidiment .
Not easy to do because you also need a adjuster for water pressure. Just buy a unit from wcr is the better thing to do.
Your going to a $1,000 doing it your -self and it still may not work.I have been working with ro for 15 years buying then
and making mine own

I use a 100g buffer tank pushed by 12v 65 psi to pump my di water. Sometimes I use my portable di cart because I can’t get close enough.
