Residential Windows

What do some of you use to clean windows inside a residential property that are up higher, maybe around 30’? You’re not gonna use a wfp indoors, you’re not gonna (want to) dunk your mop and use an extension pole and drip water on the walls and floor. I guess you just suck it up and have a panic attack 50’ in the air on a ladder? Lol

Sectional/stack ladder. Or possibly an extension ladder, if there is adequate room to set it up and not destroy furniture or walls.

It takes some getting used to, for sure. I much prefer outside ladder work over interior. Something about setting a ladder on a smooth wood or tile floor, no matter how clean the surface and how grippy the ladder feet are, just freaks me out. I have someone foot the ladder whenever possible.

If the glass isn’t too dirty, some have had good success with the indoor cleaning pads, like the ones Unger makes. But I’ve never found them useful for my needs, personally.

Is it 30’ or 50’ ? At 50’ they can stay dirty  It is easier to control the water in a mop easier than use a squeegee at 30’. Try an Unger Pad Holder with a microfibre towle or pad and just buff it out with some foaming aerosol cleaner on it.

30’ ? For stuff like that I either use an extension or long pole it. Or pole it down to where you can get the bottom with a ladder.

If you’re dripping inside a house, you’ve got too much water on your mop.

30 feet interior is rare , maybe you’ll see it more in commercial building entrances . I think the highest interior I’ve done has been 24 feet . So I wouldn’t worry to much about it

I agree . The largest I have ever come across is 23 ft interior. All cut ups hadn’t been done in a long while so ladder it was. I try to pole if and when I can interior but just like @Infinity said no matter the surface I always feel a bit worried about the ladder inside of a home. This shouldn’t be something you come across often but if you do I’d always try and see if it could be poled first. I’ve found Wagtail’s or excelerator come in very handy for these types of situations.

Oh God, my first residential was a nightmare. Guy had to get his rickety 32’ extension to do these 6 skylights. 6 of em in a circle, pie shaped, in cupola inside over his front door. 18 foot extension pole in hand I attempted to mop and squeegee those things straight over my head. Had to be all of 45 feet. Never saw em in my initial bid… had to nope out on those. Fricking Architects. I learned the most about bidding (and my capabilities) on that single day than any other. Today “yeah, those skylights, 3k each”. Please say yeah.
