Ladder rack

Good morning everyone! I am not finding much on google for ladder racks for my van that doesn’t involve bolting through the roof. I have a 2014 Toyota Sienna, it also has a sunroof. I was wondering what the best way to mount a ladder to the top would be. I will be getting the cross bars, is that all I need along with ratchet straps? Is there a ladder rack that attaches to the cross bars? Can I use something like a kayak or paddleboard carrier? I just want to avoid bolting to the roof and want to avoid breaking the sunroof, which I do use on nice days. I also want to make sure it’s safe for me and other drivers on the road. Thanks!

No need to bolt through the roof with Yakima.

And add the “Loadstop” to stabilize the ladder so it stays put. (One set of four holds one ladder)

Thanks Garry!

Most rack manufacturers will have load bars that can clamp onto your factory roof rails. So you have your pick.

I personally like my rack from VanTech. They have a pretty good selection of ladder and cargo related accessories.

Yeah vantech makes good stuff. And their Velcro straps rock.

Yes, I have these from Yakima on the rails of my Chevy Astro van and two sets of Loadstops.

i used some scrap steel tubing to go across, attached to the side rails with muffler clamps. the ends of the clamp stick up and i put the side rail of the ladder in between them, i use a cargo strap over top hooked to the van side rails. 10 bucks, 4 years later still going strong.
