This is a really unusual question / Poll ! I voted though.
Wouldn’t you join this organization for reasons other than this ?

I don’t join a religion or religious movement to get more jobs.

On a recent trip to Oregon I noted a lot of Mason’s halls in small towns and whatnot. I have an uncle who was a Freemason and he joined to further his business. Mind you this was back in the sixties so maybe things were different then.

The Masons don’t call themselves a religion but for all intents and purposes they are or at least a quasi religious body. Yes a person would join one of these organizations to better oneself on a spiritual level and ostensibly make the world a better place though outreach and group projects.

Just curious. Thanks for replying all.

On a side note: that uncle I mentioned did suggest joining organizations to further business. He was suggesting associations like Jaycees, Toastmasters, or trade organizations.

Cheers.

BNI, Northland Chamber of Commerce, Habitat For Humanity. That’s it for me. Ain’t nobody got time for all that.

I’m endlessly curious about the freemasons because of all the lore, but never considered joining because my big brother always told me they diddle you when they let you in. Lol. He wasn’t a freemason either so he probably just said that to gross me out as a kid.

Yeah most of the masons don’t know it’s a religion. But world authorities like Mackie, Coil etc al all state that it is.

They do good things but so do other groups.
