Sorry about that, I couldn’t see what i was typing on my phone for some reason, so gave up.
I am new to the game, my question is, before I clean windows, how do I know if there are hard water stains? I don’t want to spend a ton of time cleaning the windows to find out there are hard water stains, and I want to be able to tell the customers ahead of time so if they want it done, I can charge them accordingly.
Sometimes its hard tell if the windows are real dirty, but you could take a damp cloth and wipe a spot on the window to remove the dirt to see whats under it, but most people know if they have hard water staining on the window from my experience.

Nope. Some times it could be one or all of them on the lower level of the structure.
So, I should really be able to tell during the pre-inspection, right?
Yes, there’s always that rare occasion that something gets over looked.

Its common for the frames to easily show hard water deposits also, that can be an easy determinate to look closer at the window when very dirty.

in most areas hard water stains are not very common.
i have found only a few in 4 years. they are usually basement or low windows where a garden tap is sprinkling onto them or where rain is splashing up from concrete or stone.
i just tell the customer… you have some hard water staining on this window that won’t come off with regular cleaning.

When you quote the job, add to it that if anything like hard water deposits or other unforeseen issues pop up you will stop and discuss that issue with them as beyond standard window cleaning.

I never thought about the others areas.
We remove hard water stains on 50% of our jobs to some degree. Most everyone commercial and residential have in ground sprinkler systems here.
