We are debating which product to purchase. I have read that Gutterzap isnt very effective diluted at all the manufacturer tells me that 1 gallon will cover about 40 feet and about 100 diluted . He recommends 2:1 though
Gutter Grenade apparently is same spray on spray off although we would likely apply by brush , and says on website form 5: 1 to 50:1
Any input on this black streak removing challenge greatfully appreciated.
zap and grenede both work … however for a cost effectvie solution you can try water and bleach mixture… in a 5 gallon pale about 2 gallons of bleach and 1.5 gallon of water with a squirt of dawn… that mixture is cheap … works most of the time and goes a long way … good luck
ok looking like f13 gutter grenade is winning
if anyone has any or is aware of what are the effects on environment like plant life and whatever may be below that will have it dripped on
Is it a Green Product?
+1 on the F13, both work but you’ve to very much more careful with Gutter Zap to don’t let it dry on the surface. With the F13 you have some more time, that means you can cover more surface without having to go back and rinse.
NO ONE of those products are “spray on-rinse off”, agitation with a brush is needed, and sometimes a 2nd application.
Just used gutter zap for gutter whitening yesterday, half a bottle for a gallon of water and the gutters came out sparkling with ease.
The first gutter whitening job that I did I used Krud Kutter, it did the job well. But I had to scrub by hand with a 3M scrub pad to get good results. I also didn’t mix it with water and used straight Krud Kutter.
The gutter zap I dunked in the bucket and scrubbed with a brush from ground level on a pole. Two hundred thumbs up for gutter zap!

Roughly 150’ of gutters on this job. I rarely listen to the recommended dilutions, every job is different and you could use more or less depending on how dirty they are.

If your applying the F13 with a sprayer, and you use a WFP Brush exclusively for gutter whitening, then that should work. However, if you apply the solution with a brush, you will need a soft brush that will hold more liquid. In my experience you are better off rinsing with a hose rather than WFP.
I use a $8 Unger crap brush from Home Depot for gutter whitening. I’ve bought 2 in the last year, but they work very well as long as the solution you’re using to clean is the proper mix for dirtiness of the job.

Ditto. That thing holds a good amount of solution- nice tight formation of flocked bristles. Just dip the brush in my bucket, shake off the excess, and go to work!
swap the parts, and you’ll now have two adaptors: acme to euro, and euro to acme. So you can use that unger brush (or any other acme threaded tool) on your wfp. And likewise, you’ll be able to put a WFP brush or the unger indoor pad holder on a standard window cleaning pole.
