That made me laugh! :joy:

Any update on this experiment here? I am looking into all of these products. Thanks in advance!

I use all of this gear (except the Unger S channel). Plenty of posts here on Excelerator/Liquidator but concerning Ettore Contour Pro. I use this handle with a 16" Liquidator Channel on storefront glass with deep frames. I really rate it. The spring adjustment is a waste of time. Appears to do nothing to the tension at all but for me the spring action is fine. The caveat is that you have to have a light touch for normal blading and then as you commence close out you start steadily adding a touch of pressure to flatten the angle of the handle. It locks at zero degree but it would be great if you could also lock it at the standard 40° angle. I know in Trad Mans latest video he’s gone off them but it’s in my everyday kit and put to use regularly. Definitely worthwhile having.

My preferences (now) are (after a few months of experience/experimentation trying the combo’s out):

[1.] INSIDE WINDOWS: LIQ channels + Ettore Contour Pro+ handles + Facelift RazorRed rubber combination work really well with deep sills and closing out etc (IMO).

[2.] OUTSIDE WINDOWS: Excelerator handles + LIQ channel + Facelift RazorRed rubber combination for outside work really well (IMO).

Mainly use the Contour Pro+ with my 14" LIQ channel these days. Occasionally use it with my 18" (depends on job). But always (at least) have my 14" with a Contour Pro+ handle for inside work.

I have one Pulex BOAB set up with indoor gear only (LIQ + Pro+) with a swivel handle 18" T-Bar and a Moerman microfibre scrubber cover (doesn’t drip inside), and a one PULEX BOAB ready with outdoor combo (EXCL + LIQ) with a swivel handle 18" T-Bar and a Pulex Micro-Tiger scrubber cover ready to go at all times in my vehicle.

And I have a 14" Excelerator always sitting in bucket sleeve if needed.

Hi Eric.

Yeah I agree. It’s a learning curve getting used to it flexing when not wanted, but after a while you learn the touch. I think it’s great, an essential part of my kit for indoors for closing out in tight spaces, and around those window latches. The Contour Pro+ handle cant be beaten for closing out, that’s for sure.

Hi Sean.

I wouldn’t bother with Unger S-Channel Plus. Liquidator beats it hands down. I simply love my Liquidators/Excelerator’s. Got to (MUST) use Facelift RazorRed rubber with them if you don’t want to be changing rubbers after every job (no exaggeration).

I have my S-Channel Plus’s on my Ettore Back-Flip, otherwise, they’re just sitting in my van doing nothing. Liquidator channels are my go to (stock standard) every time.

Would you be willing to sell your s channels?

Thanks for your reply! I will have to pick one of those Contour handles up to try out soon. I currently have my Exelerator/LIQ 2.0 with the stock Moerman rubber, and I have had mixed feelings. Works as well as my modded Ettore brass, but not a no-detail tool yet. Perhaps with more practice.

Thanks for the detailed update! I am getting my Facelift RED rubber order in from UK sometime in the next week. Hopefully WCR will start carrying it soon. Have you ever tried Black Diamond Med/Hard rubber on LIQ 2.0 yet? Would like to know how it compares to Facelift RED.

Never (and I mean “never”) think of the Liquidator as a “no” (zero) detail tool. That’s a common misconception. Moerman never advertised it as a 0 (zero) detail tool.

Have a realistic view of it, as a reduced detailing tool. Any reduction in detailing has to be good. And that’s why I bought them (as part of an over-all strategy at reducing work/elbow-grease = work smarter not harder). There’s no magic bullet out there for zero detailing.

Liquidators and Excelerators are not perfect, or problem free. But they are really really good tools IMO.

I use a mixture of brands and tools from all sorts (thus this thread).

Buy the bulk pack of RazorRed! It’s a good deal.

RazorRed (over-all from looking at forums like this and you-tube comments etc) is the longest lasting and most durable rubber (on the market currently) that works just perfectly with the Liquidator IMO. It has the same dimensions as Moerman’s Dura-Flex soft factory rubbers.

Haven’t tried Black-Diamond (made in same factory as Moerman Soft apparently). Don’t need to IMO. My RazorRed rubber is lasting for ages and ages. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t need to go looking elsewhere = what I got works exactly as I want it to.

Moerman Durex Soft factory rubber, if you just blink at it, it wears out. One job. A big shop front or even half a big shop front, or small house, and you have to turn it over (or less in some case = real world truthful experience). Moerman Soft just slows me down having to turn it over on my channels all the time (particularly having flammin DIY paper clip end clips in my LIQ’s).

My RazorRed is literally lasting for weeks before I have to turn it over. Hammer the hell out of it, and it still keeps performing.

I’ve got enough rubber to last me a year or more at the moment (with the RazorRed bulk page 36’ strips).

I thought RazorRed was coming out of the factory with nicks in it (as commented on one of Trad Man’s youtube video comments). I WAS SIMPLY WRONG. It turns out, it was the way I was laying my squeegees in my bucket at night touching a sharp edge on a plastic sieve.

Can’t fault RazorRed yet. I got a set up that works for me. Whatever you want to use, is up to you. If it helps you do your job better in any way, then great use it, and look for other ways that you can gain an advantage.

Glad to hear that you are that happy with the RED rubber! I am getting myself the 12-pk of the 36", so that should last a while. I am looking forward to seeing what LIQ 2.0 can do with some hard rubber. I really like the Contour for interior and Excelerator for the outside concept. I will keep you guys posted on how everything goes in the next few weeks! Thanks again!

Can I ask where you got the tube to keep the rubber in? I’ve been looking for something like that!

Good question. I was cheeky enough to ask the local cleaning supplies shop what they did with the box’s their rubbers came in, and they gave me them for nothing. I did this at three different suppliers in my city. They were all happy to give them to me. They would have tossed them out in the rubbish anyway. So I see myself as doing them a favor. Try it at a cleaning supplier near you, if they have Ettore rubber (they are Ettore rubber tubes). You can only ask. They’ll say yes or no.

Or you could order from the link below:

I love the Contour Pro handle. It’s not perfect but I just love working with it.
I have my liquidator and Sorbo channels in that handle.
The Excelerator is a great handle of course but I feel the Contour more robust.
