Dawn

Let’s not forget about temp. The colder the glass the less dawn I use. Lately I’m on a tsp kick with a micro smidge of dawn. I likes the bubbles!

Started using Joy many decades ago when I started fishing. Used it to keep the bilge smell manageable, cleaning fish holds, cleaning drips when putting diesel in the boat, soaking gloves and fishing gear and even used it for washing dishes.
Now I add a small squirt of Joy to whatever WC soap I am using. I started with five different types of soap when I bought the company and I have eliminated two so far. Still haven’t decided which of the three (Waxie, Unger Eady Glide and Bio Kleen) I will use or if I should keep playing the field. Got some TSP on order but I like bubbles so not sure how that will work out.

They go everywhere it seems.

Everyone has been cool about their replies…
I like that soap wars pic hahaha

I think I’ll keep dawn/joy/dish soap for commercial/storefront
And use the more “fancy” stuff for my residential accounts!

ThanKs everyone!

I’m really enjoying this page…it’s awsome…I’m on here every day now!

Hi Dan,

I tried it for a while, but the smell was too strong in the van. We were getting sick from it. Oh well. Liked the way it cleaned though.

I love Dawn. I have used “Sunlight” before, not enough suds. Ajax imo takes too much to get right…Dawn is just a squirt or two into the 5 gallon. It’s all I know, can’t comment on the other brands

I just like saying “Dawn is the soap of choice to clean the oil covered animals up with”-- customers seem to like that lol.

Dawn is the way to go for me also, I also put a little bit of ammonia as well, not much at all. it does something to dawn to give it a super slip, it’s amazing, all I know as well.

I agree, I pour a little ammonia in mine as well-- especially doing commercial insides.

I use vinegar also, I have noticed is slows the drying down when I am sticking-- but I do not like that it doesn’t get sudsy

I do i do :+1:

I’ve never tried the vineger, I’ve heard about it though. I think I’ll try it tomorrow. any preference on brand?

Good thing you’ve got fast reflexes.

I do not like the smell (Reminds me of cat urine), but I find just a little bit helps with certain jobs. I do a tennis court area that gets hit with irrigation water daily, and believe it or not-- with VINEGAR, it cuts through the water strains (Obviously if they are completely trashed I bring out the CLR, but I hate how that smells as well) If you have cuts in your hand…you will know it lol.

lol I’ve always got cracks in my hands, I guess I’ll know right away.

For a power booster it’s hard to beat a table spoon of TSP the original professional window cleaning solution.

I prefer TSP because ammonia smells so bad even I can smell it and I literally can’t smell. I wonder what customers think of a guy who’s solution reeks of ammonia?

Corn Huskers lotion. Google it, buy it. Hands down the best I have found, put it on after a shower and within days (well, maybe weeks for you Rockward lol) there is a huge difference

lol Thanks, I’ll do that

My grandfather got me hooked on that secret, said it got banned awhile back, but I still use it sometimes on really bad first cleans.

I don’t know about that, I get it at the hardware store.

That’s where I get it too, when he told me that, and I found it he was so amazed. lol
