Canvasing and Getting Some Business!

Hit the streets today to canvas for some business. I was able to land a couple accounts and have some VERY good prospects. I have worked in the Pest Control industry and the Rent-Tow Own industry, so door knocking, door hanging and talking to random people comes pretty naturally to me. I have not done this sort of marketing in a while and honestly…I have forgotten how FUN it is!

I have a high chance of landing a popular regional Convenience store chain…I walked in,introduced myself and told the Manager she really needs to get her windows cleaned…turns out their District Manager was just in this location and complained of the windows! She will be forwarding my info and estimate. I told her to pass along that if he hires me to do all the local stores,there will be a 10% discount…now…that’s not a HUGE discount, but for some reason, when you say that to people…it works. So we will see. I have set some high weekly goals for myself and I am pushing hard. I refuse to fail…

It sounds corny, but the way I motivate myself is with this statement…“I am NOT a bucket Bob…I am a professional in what I do and how I present myself”. I will confidently present my estimate with a smile and remind them that what I do for them will give their business the best possible first impression to their customers.

I don’t do it in front of a mirror wearing my BOAB…so it’s a much lower level of corny Haha! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, whatever gets your mind right. Mine is “I don’t really have competition.” If another window cleaner like @Gotlift can provide my level of clean, then he’s a friend not competition. All the other jokers to my left and clowns to my right can’t compete.

It’s less corny if you have pants on.

I walked into a store last Thursday and asked for a Manager. Two men approached me and one was the district manager. Today my first employee cleaned two out of three of the locations he hired my company to clean. Sometimes you get lucky and nail the timing.

Oh yeah, he thought one location only had 6 windows. It has 24 because he forgot about the vestibule. I let him know and next time we service that location we’ll clean all of them and make more money.

Always great to see people pounding the ground and banging down doors or as i like to call it sometimes “kicking ass and taking names” yep sounds stupid but it sounds cool in my head!!
