Anyone try the Housecall App

 Keep the suggestions coming - we are listening and trying to build the best software out there for you guys! The only way possible is to keep getting good feedback! :sunglasses:

Iā€™ll have the engineers look at - I can say though their generic answer to me is always ā€œare they running the latest OSā€ and ā€œis it jailbroken?ā€. Iā€™ll get back to you though :slightly_smiling:

@Infinity
Just had the engineering team look at your crashes.

It seems like 100% of the crashes reported to our system with iOS 7 are occurring on your jailbroken phone. None of our other users still on iOS 7 are getting crashes (there are only a handful).

ā€œAlso the crashes occour at system level that would be really hard for us to cause so I am sure its his jailbreak and fact that he is using a 3 year old OS.ā€

I know you are probably using your jailbroken phone for a reason, or there are some other apps you can only get with the jailbreak, but you might want to consider upgrading to iOS 9.2

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I know I should have upgraded before apple stopped signing 9.0.x. Itā€™s funny that it turns out to be the jailbreak. I havenā€™t experienced any other apps crashing (that I can think of), and I used ā€œsafe modeā€ which is supposed to disable all the tweaks for troubleshooting these sorts of issues. But I donā€™t doubt your teamā€™s expertise

The crashes have been more of a nuisance than anything else, as Iā€™m always able to get the app to run on the 2nd or 3rd attempt. So Iā€™ll just deal for now.

Did they say anything about the display bugs? Those are much more of a hindrance right now. I might even consider upgrading to a non-jailbroken 9.2 if itā€™ll resolve that issue

@Infinity

Yeah your jailbreak and old OS version is definitely causing it.

If you upgrade to 9.2 I promise you wonā€™t have any of the issues you are currently experiencing!

You can go with iOS 9.3 public beta. I have no issues with it on my 6s Plus or IPad Air 2. Thereā€™s a lot of features in it that come from jailbreak tweaks. It now has its own version of f.lux, quick reply for text messages. Sure you canā€™t theme. But I havenā€™t really seen the need for jailbreaking since iOS 7. My wife is happier with me not wasting my time with customizing my phone. Although itā€™s going to be tempting if and when the latest jailbreak becomes available.

I never used f.lux, or quick reply for sms, so I probably wouldnā€™t bother with installing the beta. Just go to 9.2 for now.

What I will miss is my Activator actions. I have some pretty nifty shortcuts for turning on the flashlight, opening the camera, opening my phone favorites, etc.

Iā€™ll also miss tweaks like speed intensifier, iconoclasm + bigify (for shrinking + fitting more icons on my springboard), along with others that just made my phone a little easier to deal with.

Oh wellā€¦ :unamused:

Grrrā€¦ I was afraid of that. Thanks for helping me out. Do your developers have the ability to circumvent the OS signing process? i.e, allowing them to install an OS no longer being signed by the Apple servers?
(I know thatā€™s a long shot, and even if they had the ability, I doubt theyā€™d be able or willing to do it for someone elseā€™s phoneā€¦)

I might just start by uninstalling system-level tweaks that I donā€™t really use :sunglasses:

Iā€™m kind of getting a little ā€˜pissyā€™ againā€¦
Am I the only one who canā€™t back date any jobs/cust?

And itā€™s starting to do the backwards order, scheduling thing again.
The circled February date is next month (it wouldnā€™t allow me to add the cleaning from two weeks ago)
but the upcoming scheduled jobs begins with July.

Let me correct myselfā€¦
You canā€™t set a job as recurring to back date.

It has to be a ā€œNeverā€ recurring, and then changed later.

Iā€™ve got the new iOS downloaded, and Iā€™m this close to pulling the trigger on the install buttonā€¦ Canā€™t seem to bring myself to do it!

Well, I did it. Phone restoring from backup as I write this. It feels like a betrayal, somehow. But 9.3 should be out soon, along with the new JB

Now back to talking about HCP!!

Thank you all so much for your suggestions! We have carefully gone through and added your votes to product features. Upcoming features include the ability to create multi-day jobs as well as the ability to add sub-customers (such as residential customers with multiple addresses).

We are so grateful for all of your feedback! It guides us along as we continue improving to provide you all with the best possible experience.

Uh fixing estimates started this thread again

@rivet0r The HCP and QBO sync quite frankly sucks. Everything pushes over as ā€œHOUSECALL PRO SALESā€ and thatā€™s it. There is no way to break it down to window cleaning, pressure washing, gutter cleaning or any other category that you might have for income, so at the end of the year you just have one huge income line item and no way to tell where your money came from. I donā€™t really know if itā€™s a HCP or QBO issue but I hope that helps. @rolandal @HouseCallPro

Seems odd - can you reach out to the engineer in the chat bubble in the web portal? They should be able to look into this for you and you fixed up!

Yes @Steve - this is something on our roadmap for the QBO sync. Itā€™s actually harder to do since we want to do it the right way and match the line items with categories you already have or create new ones in QBO.

You mean adding public attachments that send out w/ the estimate - just making sure I wrote it down correctly.

@rolandal thatā€™s encouraging. The way itā€™s set up now I canā€™t continue using the syncing which means back to double entry. I thought it would be fine for 2015 but now that Iā€™m closing out the year I see how little information that I have regarding where the money came from. I hope itā€™s one of the next exits along the ā€œroadmapā€ as I canā€™t drive too far without knowing what each service is producing.

Yes if someone wants written estimate certain documents are essential to the estimate
