4 Story Hotel CCU Tie Off Help Needed

I would say that you bid over your level.
That job should be priced high enough to rent a couple of water fed poles.

How are you removing the construction debris when using wfp on ccu jobs?

Just bustin’ chops.
This job should not be done tethered out of a window.
A Franken-pole set up if no lift is available.

Yah, I don’t think the results a “franken-pole” set up would fly with these people. And there’s silicone on the glass you wouldn’t be able to see from the ground. :frowning:

Have you thought about subbing the job out to a company that is equipped, trained, and insured to do the job?
Maybe you can sub out the levels you can’t get to?

There’s 2 companies in town that do it, the one that’s worth using is booked out, and sounds like they don’t want to the other is a janitorial company that does high rise I haven’t called because of not hearing good stuff about them.

L & I has a section with videos to watch and plans that can be put in place etc the stuff that @anon46335951 talked about. Thanks Jeff!

Don’t use a ladder. That looks way too high for a ladder.

I’d say abseiling would be the most feasible option.

Me rapelling? That’s a funny joke, at least it would be until I die from not tieing the right knott… thats not my cup of tea

what’s the difference between

And

I read the descriptions and saw that they pass different osha requirments, and that the expensive one is rated for like 5,000 LB and the cheap one for like 3,600 LB.

Difference is the rating like you said. Different ratings are required for different uses.

The biggest factor is what your connecting it to and the load rating it will take.

If you install the 5000lb one to a hollow door jamb guess what, it will fail at 300 lbs

and I would take into factor are these units fully finished? are those anchors going to mark up the door jamb and frame?

There is rubber padding on contact surfaces which when used properly wont leave marks. In the event of a fall more pressure is applied and marks can be left. I would consider that an acceptable problem to save your self.

I’ve used a lot of fall arrest systems but never one that hooks up to a door. thanks for the info.

How can he use a door anchor if the Windows only open 4 inches?

the safety clip on the windows unscrews with some super special torx bit. so the window opens up all of the way and comes out

You most likely can contact the window manufacturer and order “special torx bit.”

I found it at homedepot, I guess it’s not as special as I made it out to be. lol

Be prepared to lift with a firm grip. Those Windows tend to be quite heavy. Especially the larger ones. Better to do it now than when tables and tv’s are placed right in front of them.

So I’ve already started the work, and have done about 20 rooms of lifting the pane out. They are heavy! My employee and I struggle to get them by ourselves, but it’s not any easier with two people because of coordination etc.
