About the Petzl ABSORBICA-I Lanyard

The ABSORBICA-I is a single lanyard with integrated energy absorber, built for progression on a horizontal lifeline (rope or cable) or elevated platform without passing intermediate anchors. In a fall, the progressive tearing of the absorber webbing limits impact force, with the system rated for users weighing 60–140 kg (132–308 lbs).

The energy absorber sits in a durable fabric pouch that protects it from abrasion and contaminants, with a simple opening system for quick inspections. The compact design stays out of the way during movement. Two harness connection options offer flexibility: the STRING positioning accessory for frequent connect/disconnect, or a RING OPEN gated ring for a more permanent setup. The lanyard end works with either a locking carabiner or an MGO OPEN connector with a large gate opening. 

Available in two versions:

ABSORBICA-I 80 - the compact option, with a maximum authorized length of 100 cm (39 in) including connectors. Weighs 170 g (0.37 lb) and is certified to CE EN 355.

ABSORBICA-I 150 - the longer version, with a maximum authorized length of 200 cm (or 183 cm (72 in) ANSI Z359.13 and CSA standards). Features an elasticized arm to stay out of the way during progression, and is certified to CE EN 355, ANSI Z359.13, CSA Z259.11-17, and the Japanese fall protection standard. Weighs 225 g (0.5 lb).
