ISSUE TEASER:
Hey there window cleaner, are you looking to expand your knowledge on how your profession all began? Look no further than the collector's editions of AWC Magazine!
This 13th issue, printed in November 1988, features an interview with co-owner of BG Maintenance in Kansas City, Ronald Baker. Ron had been active with the BSCAI, or the Building Service Contractors Association International, for many years and chose to have a window cleaning division of his company rather than subcontracting out.
Allowing him and his team to have more control over the quality of the workmanship and make a higher profit, Ronald didn't think twice about this decision. He also found excitement in opening up his company to hiring both men and women. He said, "I don't know how to say it without sounding sexist, but a woman is a neater worker than a man. You don't have to do the degree of reminding a woman. If she goes inside to clean, she gives more attention to detail, looking to wipe up spots or spills inside windows."
Grow your company with these timeless tips from AWC today!
