Can magic lube get into the system by lubricating the o rings in the di filter and the carbon filter housing and cause a magic lube smear on the windows? Would the tds register as high if this happened?

Based on the small amount of lube used on the O ring, this is very unlikely. We would definitely recommend replacing your DI resin if your TDS is jumping, or giving us a call at 862-266-0677 to help you troubleshoot your system. 

What do you use to clean it off of plastics

A towel would be sufficient for surface cleaning.

Is this silicone based? thanks

Aladdin Magic Lube is PTFE based.
