• One good tip (from Sörbo himself) is to use a layer of electrical or Scotch tape on the aluminum straight edge’s recessed groove (the part where you push your rubber into the Docket). This trick reduces the width of rubber removed for every cutting to extend your blade’s lifespan further.
• Before your start sharpening a rubber, make sure it’s tightly butted up against the Docket’s LHS stopper. If not, you’ll get what’s called a “ski slope” on the blade’s tips.
• Teflon-coated blades work best with the Docket. Using cheap blades might potentially affect the product’s performance and make your rubber inefficient.
