Zipskinny dot com -malware on site

So I’m getting ready to do some eddm this spring. I downloaded the eddm manual from the members section of wcra. The manual says to go to zipskinny dot com. This is supposed to be a website where you can find free demographic info by zipcode. However there is no such info and it just leads you to a page with virus’s/ malware. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, hopefully find a recommended alternative, and let @Chris know.

your computer has a virus.

Yikes

Thanks for the heads up. That used to be a good site. Will get that reference removed. Thanks

How would you know what my computer has? (reading back I realize this sounds kind of rude. sorry not my intention. But seriously though.)

Can anyone else recommend a good alternative site? I’m getting different results depending on which site I look at? zipwho dot com is definitely not accurate.

edit: Okay, I found esri dot com. It seems pretty accurate and has a cool feature where you can just roll over the zip code without actually clicking, therefore no load times, and much faster working.

Why not just go to the USPS website for EDDM (https://eddm.usps.com). Once there you can create an account (which is FREE) and then you can simply enter the address and/or zip code you are interested in and you will get a map, house count and demographics of that zip code or codes. You can the even save the info. until you are ready to mail.

When you are ready to mail, simply bring up the saved info. print the mailing documents, bundle and head off the post office that serves that zip code.

I’ve done hundreds of these mailings over the past several years. It’s really simple.

I hope this helps!
