Work Belt Setup (for the newbies)

Thanks for sharing the pic of your set-up.

That looks like some bright shiny new equipment there! Very nice.

Does the squirt bottle leak on you? I find that I need something with a lid.

Do you need the pliers a lot that you need them on your belt? Iā€™m just curious. I got a bucket buddy thing from home depot and keep my pliers, screw drivers, etc on that but it stays in the back of the truck. Itā€™s come in VERY handy. Iā€™ll have to post a pic of it.

Like the paint can opener/screen remover tool, love the paint brush and the good ole Sidekick boab.

 • hate the screwed in place squeegee channel.

Oh man, I didnā€™t even catch that. You cold got to have the quick release.

Jared, squirt bottle hasnā€™t really leaked on me yet but I actually find that I need a larger bottle. I typically find myself filling it two or three times.

The pliers are a new addition and I have only needed them twice- would love to see a pic of your bucket buddy.

Totally agree with the quick release, itā€™s already become cumbersome.

legitimate question here: why would anyone go with the ettore boab over the unger classic? the unger classic has the same design, but also a handy slot for 1" click scraper. #added_value

Not everyone wants rusty scrapers?

^mike, did you use a classic and find that it rusted out your scrapers quickly? iā€™ve never really noticed it as a problem myself.

That was an issue for us. We went thru a lot of scrapers. So I switched to ettore buckets. For nowā€¦ I like the fact they they detach quick. Easy to empty the used water out on the fly. Otherwise you pull your strip washer out inside a home and water drips off onto the floor.

Do you guys use your boab as a bucket to dip out of ???

Sort of. It holds a really wet mop so thatā€™s sort of a dipper.

But if youā€™re dripping on the floor flip your mop on the way up.

Heck no. We use squirt bottles. Always what you need, always fresh.

Ya I wouldnā€™t chance that inside a house . Plus think how fast that water is getting dirty. On the outside I have if Iā€™m going up on a roof to clean a few or maybe a skylight ya Iā€™ll fill the boab . I like squirt bottles. Ecover bottles are my preference. Straight up no rocks

To me a boab is strictly for holding the strip Wahser an a squeegee

Itā€™s a tool holder for the most part for me.

There are times I use it (boab) as a dipper when Im cleaning a string of store front glass, instead of move a bucket down the line.

You havnt tried the Ecover bottle yet. Come on man !! Itā€™s great especially when you have to go inside no bringing a bucket in. I wish I did it this way years ago
Of course if your doing a really big inside them ya bucket comes in
Oh an I donā€™t like usin a boab on route work Gets in the way great for resi does get in the way for that too, but Iā€™m not putting my strip Wahser on someoneā€™s dresser while I pull ther blind up. Not that wearing one when doing route is stupid I just donā€™t line it or feel a need for it

Ya I send my guy in with a bucket filled with 3 squirt bottles , rags , scraper , 12" 10" squeegee , 10" strip Wahser , white pad , sea sponge for sills . On his belt he has boab with 14" strip an a 14" squeegee. Thatā€™s usually good enough for the upstairs them he has 3 more bottles right by the front door if needed for downstairs .

For years I always used to go in with a bucket of water an my tools in the bucket I like the other way better .

Oh I donā€™t inside a house. But outside or route work a wet mop will go further and then the water bottle goes even more further.

Yeah the ecover bottles are great. Use one of those retractable, flexible tool grabber things to clean the inside when they start to get grubby.
