Why is a Sorbo better on storefronts than Ettore brass?

Maybe I’ll give it a try since i started with the ninja channels and really liked them except for how much detailing they need. At the time i didn’t know the difference between wide body and regular channels, but now i realize that i guess i like wide bodies, so maybe the sorbo will feel right.

I want to buy new squeegees. I’ve torn what to buy. I want to buy some wide bodies. Then I want to try the liquidator and I want to buy some regular standard channels and handle… ahhhh I don’t know!

If you are doing mostly residential get a 14 or 16 of each kind.

I used them as soon as they came out about 25 years ago I think.

  1. The groves help take water
  2. The weight is good.
  3. With the adjustable ledger you will not have a better tool.
Notice how we used the Ledger at 24 feet!

could never do this with a brass one.

this a great question, i’m very glad you asked it.
i have been wondering this myself.

I think I’m gonna stick with my modified Ettore brass channels because I’m in a groove. Thanks for the great feedback.

Im on the fence

I’m the sort of person that has to try everything… Sometimes what one person likes another may not…

I did try a 30" wide body channel about 10 years ago for one week. It was fun but the extra torque on my shoulder injured my roto cuff and landed me in physical therapy. Those big squeegees are heavy. Today my roto cuff feels OK so I’m going to stick with my tried and true Ettore brass set up.

Also I do a lot of smaller shops in old down town squares built about 100 years ago. The 18" and 12" blade are more compatible on 90% of my work.

Not sure if that much time is being saved on regular storefront accounts with a large wide bodied channel. They move wide but slow and the 18" moves not as wide but faster. :sunglasses:

All personal preference.

I hate hearing that response because we never know the variables involved in the personal choice. People say it all the time. I’m sure nobody is preferring to earn less money per hour because they are just to slow or work twice as hard as necessary. There has to be other reasons, reasons the reader is unaware of.
