Who knows when the first boab was created and which company was the first to manufactured it?
If you know the answer, what was the first year it was manufactured?
@JaredAI knows the answer. He is feeding his pet raccoon and will respond shortly. I can’t wait to see his response. Man…that guy is funny!
Austin DeHerder told me he invented the BOAB. It was made out of pvc pipe. He pitched the idea to someone like Unger or Ettore and they pinched his idea. He had a thriving business on the west coast and was a member of Gary Mauers email forum back in the day. Window Cleaning Network. I think he belonged to Master Window Cleaners of America as well, another email forum.
He sold his business about ten years ago to pursue a career in photography. He made a dvd for window cleaners as well.
My guess would be 1977 by Unger BOAB’s were a brand new idea when I was getting started. That’s about 40 years ago.
My friends lived in the south for awhile and heard some awesome stories from a family with a pet raccoon I would love one lol
Thanks for the this response Mike.
True story… I remember my uncle having a pet raccoon when I was about 5 years old. He had him in a cage wrapped with chicken wire. The cage was about 4 feet off the ground. I never went close to that cage. That raccoon wanted to get out real bad. I always wondered how and what he fed him.
As far as I know, the only one on file at the uspto is Unger’s in 1990.
It’s the only one I care about because I’m using it as a reference drawing for my utility patent.
I don’t have any fresh raccoon picks but Perry will always say “arrrooogh”
Thanks for the response Jared.
I knew it my memory is totally shot! Off by 13 years. Geez
LOL
I dont know “official”/patent type info, but I know I had never seen one before early 1990’s-ish.
I realize thats a sloppy response, but I can remember it being a total “woah” moment.
I dont remember seeing “unger green” until much later, but my brain has been blurred./gotten older/
“just say no, kids.”
Thanks for the response.
