What's that in your ear?

Anyone who thinks the Judas Priest remake is better or even close to this is, well, wrong.

I don’t remember their remake of this, but Judas Priest is their own niche. Painkiller will always have a place in the soundtrack of my brain even though I haven’t owned the album since the early 90’s.

Jared, you have an amazing range of music taste.
With all due respect, I just can’t get into JP. “Living After Midnight” is okay.

Now I can finally say I’ve actually listened to Black Uhuru. All these years I had no idea what style they played.

I kind of skimmed through it. But I don’t mind reggae 90% of the time!

Speaking of reggae, I LOVE this one.

I’ve listened to just about everything (cept Beatles until recently). Painkiller came out in 1990 and like all the stuff I loved I’d listen to it on loop day and night. It’s the last JP album I listened to and it’s like a little segment of the soundtrack of my life. I can’t really listen to it today because it doesn’t fit. There’s a lot of albums that I just don’t listen to today but they’re still in the ol mental jukebox. But then again, there’s a ton of stuff that I do still listen to today. =)

You guys make me feel real young whenever I check this thread

Interesting

Yeah, the Stones I get. I mean, I dig Sympathy for the Devil and some of their other songs. I’ve never bought any of their albums, but I can appreciate them.

But I try to put myself in the era where the Beatles came out and yeah, they had a wide range of talent. Plus when I heard “Dig a Pony” I was like holy crap Steve Miller stole his sound from the Beatles??? I know it’s not exact, but it’s what ran through my head.

LOL, this conversation from “Corner Gas” just ran though my head (luckily all this music and dialog have so much room to run around in)

Brent LeRoy: I’m not up on that new stuff.
Wanda Dollard: You’re not up on it? Or you’re not into it?
Brent LeRoy: I might be into it, if I was up on it. But I’m not up on it, so I’m not into it. What I’m into, I’m up on.
Lacey Burrows: I’m mostly into what I’m up on, but even though I’m not up on the new stuff, I’m sort of into it.
Brent LeRoy: I’m down with that.
Wanda Dollard: Prepositions are fun, aren’t they?
Brent LeRoy: What’s a preposition?

Yeah, but only the first 5 albums…

Thelonious Monk was notorious for playing the “missing” notes or playing the right notes in the wrong order. He was either a genius or a really sucky piano player. I’m going with genius for now.
