What is ABC Selling? Seems like garbage

Yes it’s very big and heavy. The other big drawback would be the filter
replacement you have to order filters from ABC. They are proprietary
filters.

I have the ABC stage 4 cart with pump and I will say that it’s a “piece” if you smell what I’m stepping in… main reason I purchased a pure water system was so that I could work more by my self and not have to have a ladder holder, and speed of course but… This cart is so heavy it’s unsafe to even lift it off the truck. Then you have to put it back on the truck, tanks still filled with water!!! I will use this system till it pukes out then will be in the market for a new system. Any recommendations… I have High TDS. No need for pole and brush
Thanks.

The fact is, ABC doesn’t make a filtration system that is worth a crap. Any system that uses proprietary filters should be looked at as suspect. Seriously.

I’ve seen a lot of complaints that ABC’s stuff is crappy and doesn’t hold up. I am not wasting my money on it.

If I were in the market for another RO/DI, it would be the xero pure. I have one now, and they work great. No proprietary filters, and it’s just a good, dependable system. Add a pump and you have a system you can depend on for YEARS trouble free. Just add the occasional filter and resin.

I have had an Enterprise for two years, haven’t used anything else, so can’t compare.
I use an aluminum ramp to get it in and out of my Sprinter van.
Changed KDF and Sediment filters once a year, RO and DI original.

Won’t take long abc cart is garbage. They effectively forced me to learn to make my own carts because they ripped me off with that pos.

You can make your own for $500-$1500 with a decent pump from harbor freight. Then you can refill carbon sediment and di cartridges for about 10 bucks each. ROs cost about $300 and last about 5 years.

You should be changing your sediment and carbon filter much more often, several times a year to protect your RO.

I don’t use the machine daily, sometimes it goes for weeks without any use.
But I will look into replacing them more often.

their cart looks like a version of IPC cart i have. thing is stupid heavy. my step van is pretty high im done with lifting it. im leaving it in the van now forget loading and unloading.

the machines are so simple though, think mines atleast 10yrs old maybe? whats the life expectancy of these things anyways?

Hey Mike, well the housing’s will last how ever long they don’t leak, the filters are the real replaceable, but that sucks that you aren’t even going to be lifting it anymore. You want a system you can maneuver. Just on that fact, it might be time to change. In 10 years, you definitely made your money with it.

Its the components, tds meters, housings or gauges that can be damaged or wear out.

Even when they do the cost is cheap to replace in comparison to a new system.

Like you said the systems are simple, really just changing filters and worn supply hoses from dragging are the only costs.

Newer systems really aren’t faster but maybe just slimmed down units.

Similar to a squeegee, just replace the worn rubber and it keeps working the same for years.

that’s how i feel about it. i can tear down electric motors. ive pulled engines and transmissions and completely rebuilt classic rides so these machines are very elementary. couldn’t really see the reason too replace since technology is pretty much the same.

im happy i wont be lifting it anymore lol

i prefer too pull hose than to maneuver any cart

Mad Scientist I’ll take it over copy cat! at least I think of my own ideas!
WCR Now has sim-black poles

And who taught you how to do that?

I built my three stage system. It cost me 600.00 or so I experimented a little so I went over budget by about 100.00. I ordered the membrane and housings for the carbon filter RO and DI for the build from amazon. The pipe fittings are Home Depot and the DI resin is from WCR. I could afford the 2000.00 for any other system. It works great. I put double resin housings so I get more from each refill.
