What "info" are they talking about?

I recently walked into a national car rental chain to pitch them on service, I knew I wasn’t going to score the work immediately, but to get the ball rolling, and get contact info. The clerk gave me the corporate branch maintenance manager’s phone number (cell # btw, gotta love it). When I contacted him, I told him who what where and he asked me to just email him my info. I said ok great, talk to you soon, and hung up with him.

So, what info exactly does he mean? Is that just a brush off? These guys must have 30 or 40 locations in my service area so I kinda want to get off on the right foot with him. What info do you send when you get this reply?

Its kind of a brush off, normally what they mean by company information.

What your company about…
What services you offer…
The most important thing is "WHY" they should be interested in talking to you!

What benefits your company offers that the other company’s doesn’t, such as save them time and money over there current vendor.

Hope this helps.

I’m not creative enough I guess. I can’t imagine one thing that that guy hasn’t heard from some or another maintenance service already. Save time and money. Obviously. Sucks that “better job” can’t be proven because most of these folks stay states away in some office.

Throwing out an idea…

Reference
Other national chains you service…?

uh, fresh outta those.

They don’t need to know that.

You can make general references like “we service many commercial locations in the area including grocery stores, restaraunts, hotels, and car dealerships”

Or

“This is a great time of year to make room in our schedule for new accounts”

My guess is its a brush off. But you never know. If the timing is right you might luck into a ton of work.

there is another thread on here (i think) with a post that suggests the approach "hi who would i talk to to find out aboout getting on your approved vendor list"
you are now asking them to help which is their job. you are also not trying to sell them anything so have no need to be defensive or try to shield their manager.
different companies could want a range of credentials, insurance bonds wcb ets one i bid on required membership in a service that vetted trades, membership was over 1k per year but anyone who used their ervice could then see me as an approved window cleaner. kind of what bbb professes to do but does not and on a much larger scale.
