Website and SEO question

Question for those of you with a little more knowledge then myself. I’m currently using (about a year and a half) Yodle for my website and “SEO”, but after doing some research I’ve found that I can get another site through GoDaddy with “SEO” for a MUCH lower price. I would basically pay GoDaddy for 2 years worth for about what I pay Yodle for 1 month. Only thing that I would loose are my 40+ 5 star reviews that I’ve worked hard for but, there is a place to put testimonials within GoDaddy that I have to put in, a client would no longer be able to leave me reviews unless I start using Google reviews more then what I do.

Im sorry if this is a mess of a question and hope you understand what I getting at, is it worth the change?
Thanks.

Hi @rnkriis1…how much the website costs you is really not that relevant. What you need to figure out is how much it’s making you in real revenue.

Example

Option A - Lets say you pay $200 per month for your website & marketing package. And that site produces $1000 per month in new customer sales. You gross $800 per month.

Option B - You pay $20 per month for your website from a discount provider (ie. GoDaddy). That site produces $500 per month in new customer sales. You gross $480 per month.

Decision becomes a bit of a no brainer. Monthly website + marketing cost is really largely irrelevant. Knowing your conversion rate and ROI is what matters.

Re: your reviews dilemna. Reviews are golden…don’t ever discount how important they are. And if you’re not already collecting Google reviews, don’t wait another day getting started. Here’s some suggestions for how to be effective at collecting reviews.

Thanks for the feedback, as for reviews, I’m not worried about get them collected as i ask for them all the time after a job, i just haven’t been using Google reviews because my Yodle site has a place that clients can leave reviews (Rate-a-biz). As for ROI on the Yodle site i don’t really feel its there, I’ve really kept it due to the reviews. Don’t get me wrong, i do get work from it from people doing a search but i think i can get the same from a different provider at much lower price. I guess what I’m really asking is, is there anyone out there that has used one website/seo provider and then switched to another without seeing any real problems or wished they hadn’t changed. Ive spent a year and a half to get to where I’m at and don’t want to take a huge step backwards.

Google reviews are the best type of review you can get. Definitely concentrate on collecting them!

I believe Yodle owns everything. So once you stop paying them, reviews and citation building go away.

Get your reviews on Google. Everyone uses Google, everyone sees your Google reviews.

This isn’t backed up by any statistics, but i almost think your Google business listing could be more important than your website.
