Wagtail high flyer anyone tried it

wagtail high flyer anyone tried it?

I am having a hard time keeping up with the release of these tools. Apparently there is also a “High Flyer Pro” that has been released at least to a select few Wagtail devotees. Not sure about the differences. It looks like a cool idea.

tried it out at the window cleaning show here in the UK in Sept-i was immediately impressed -and have been awaiting them appearing in the shops ever since that time. that central hinge idea is the key to it

i knew from the way it worked it would be a great asset to me. especially for pole use . i intend buying several 14 inch sized ones for my lads

id travelled up to the show just to meet Willie Erken ,to shake his hand , like many who rely on his tools the mans tools are a godsend. he actually gave me a squeegee combi tool that isnt a high flyer nor is a flipper-im not sure what it is called ,and iv not tried it out, as it seems a pity to start using it as it was a personal gift .

Ok. Sure thing

Hey Richy @ACME_Window_Cleaning how you liking the high flyer?

Ken @cactus27 what’s your opinion on the high flyer?

To date it’s the best Wagtail combi tool I’ve used. Absolutely love it…
I have a special size order being shipped to me strait from Willie… A 24
inch High Flyer and a 7 inch High Flyer… Can’t wait to get my hands on
those…
So I’m a fan of these no doubt…

Here’s my quick video of it

my high flyer is plastic and has lubricating strips.
i like it but:
the tube and channel that allow it to pivot or flip goes all the way to the end of the channel and interferes with close out.
it is extremely difficult to flip to squeegee position on a longer pole. mine does not lock in squeegee position.
the lubricating strips do not work well, to engage them you must hold the squeegee at too low an angle for correct blade contact. the only point where the lube strip engages with decent angle on rubber edge is so small it is not practical so i leave them off. also the fabric leaves trailing threads that get under the blade and leave lines.
the angled ends mean you cannot get right into a corner with the scrubber.
the rubber sometimes slides out of position.
it’s possible for too much solution to build up between the back of the rubber and edge of the pad leaving trails if solution too foamy.

overall the tool has a lot of nooks and crannies and can become rather drippy for inside.

it and the swipe are my first wagtails. i do almost all residential with wfp so i am not as much of a squeegee guy as some on here but i found it very quick and efficient on a storefront i did recently (much more efficient than another i did with scrubber, sgueegee, straight pull high fan low.)

i’ve been using it on residential insides.
