Unger Stingray

@yourwindowsclean glad that works for you it took me a year to get to that mix

I watched one of the videos on the Stingray and the rep for Unger says that it is RECOMMENDED that you go no higher than what the 10’ kit will deliver, which depending on how tall you are would be around 18 feet. Now he said RECOMMENDED. Does that mean you can’t add any more extension? Don’t know.

I am still waiting on mine to come, I expect I will find a way to adapt it to another pole for more length, seeings that higher is it’s greatest value to me.

Has anyone tested the maximum reach of the Stingray, or is the IPC Eagle Indoor a sturdier pole system?

So are these worth the money and the hassle?Curious if they would be any use on resi that are done once a month and a few commercials that are done every 3 months.Have a feeling they would nt be great for 3 month interior commercial jobs when you have office staff hand and finger marks on the windows to deal with?

I would think this is where they shine, but for my use on residential I would need a sturdy pole with maximum reach. As it is now, I bring my extension ladder indoors on a few places to reach high over the door windows and tall stairway windows. A pain to do while avoiding marring walls and such.

Really? So they ll be good for commercial office interior windows?Being shown a demo next week by a cleaning supplier from northern ireland,he thinks im going to buy on the spot after he gives me the demo and lets me have a go of it!

I would be interested in what your take is on it, and if the salesman can demonstrate it at 18’ which they claim it can reach with extensions.

Has this happened yet?

Yes I have tested it And more than the 10 ft of poles it is to much on the poles and will bend and brake. The head is to heavy to go more than the 10 ft of poles plus you reach. That is why IPC went with carbon fiber on the 25 ft Hydra Clean.

To me, it still seems the original Unger pads are the better option. Simple, relatively inexpensive, able to use your existing extension pole, and can still use the newer Unger (or 3M) solution if it really is better than pure water or a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water.

i want to mount the stingray or hydra on my reahit mini i don’t need another pole :smirk:

Yes it did.Arranged for him to meet me in a customers house as they had a big 10ft long skylight that it would be ideal for instead of lugging a ladder in and drop cloths for drips.I was impressed by the results of the cleaning solution and the pad itself but i did find the pole a bit flimsy…almost like it could break very easily if that makes sense?Needless to say i did nt purchase it then and there as that put me off a bit.

I used my Stingray last night and I like the way it performs but I am also concerned with the perception that the poles or the dispersing head could be easily broken, especially with negligent employees that don’t carefully load equipment in the van. I have a long cardboard tube that I use for a carrying case.

Yes, I know that employees are not supposed to be negligent but it is reality that damaged items are often not noticed until much later. I am fortunate to have a diligent employee, but that was due to luck more than anything else.

I am concerned with the cost of the pouches so I liberally spray 3M Glass Cleaner on the pad while using. Starting to wonder if it would have been more cost effective to get the Unger indoor cleaning kit instead.

They seem to be a good tool for what they are intended - close reach.

Homer, I have the Unger Indoor Cleaning Kit and can attach the aluminum head to a longer pole to get the reach that I need. The benefit of the cleaning solution on the Stingray was appealing to me. Perhaps Unger will do an upgrade with the strength and stiffness of the Stingray’s pole.
