I inspect the screens when I do the walk through. Any that are frayed or fragile corners I tell the customer about them and say “I do screen repairs too, I can fix those for $xx.”

We mention it during the initial call along with other services we offer, then when we do the walk through on the day of service we like to use the wording.

“We can do the re-screening repairs for $xxx while we are here today then that is one less thing you need to think about during bug and spider season.”

Always offering a solution to their problem(s)!

Yep. I tell them also that during the time of year that they do not open their windows they should store the screens in the garage. Screens are dirt magnets and collect soot in the tracks and the weather beats them up. They last longer if you store them when not being used.

Except in today’s society, of planned obsolescence, your talking yourself out of work. I would too tbh. Could be a good angle to get on the schedule regularly. “We’ll pack up and unpack your screens. …”

I like the pitch, but I’m not a “we” yet. I would have been doing them on the dudes driveway on a sheet of cardboard. After cleaning all the windows. Built the handy dandy table at my height and I get better results faster with no backache. I’ll be packing it to residential from now on though.

There’s many different ways to do it, folding table, a table that slides out from the back of the truck, two saw horse and piece of plywood. It all works!

People love the onsite service and saves you time and gas.
