Theory for Best Straight Pull Combo Ever

Has anyone tried to put a DIY fliq or flipper pad on a 24" wide body channel?

A killer combo for straight pulls would be:
a 24" Legend with a modded fliq pad = minimal detailing, no switching, super fast

Pretty sure the legend is not a no detail squegee

Close to no detail… closer than a sorbo

It’s actually the same as Sorbo on straight pulls. It only gets in the corners and edges better when you fan from what Mark said. I asked him that question because I use Sorbo large channels on commercial with straight pulls. I will probably get the 18 though as I do fan from time to time with it and that would be nice to see how much better the legend does. I do fan sometimes with the larger channels but not as much as the 18".

I wouldn’t mind trying to modify a diy flip pad for the larger channels. I may have to give that a go.

Thanks for the clearification. Yeah a flip pad on a longer channel would be ideal in my case… any suggestions on how to attach it?

The metal rod might not work for the longer squeegee as the added weight and length of the pad might bend it so it might take another way. I’m not sure if @Herman uses a longer flip pad. I know he uses the swivel handles with a longer channel but I don know if it has a flip pad on it.

Here’s one of Herman’s videos where he attaches a lubricating strip to a wide bodied channel. I would imagine a full flip pad could be attached the same way.

its good to read posts on straight pulling with a pole . for years all the polework posts was focussing on fanning and countless vids on pole fanning- at a snails pace -i spose they look good to watch but have very little relevance in the real world.

you have a busy day with a lot of work to get thru and you wont be pole fanning for long thats for sure

I agree, some have said they do it to keep entertained or a hobby like thing to keep things new. I like to make money

I agree. For large commercial panes, which make up most of my days, straight pulls with longer channels are simply the fastest. The only drawback is switching from applicator to squeegee, and I don’t want to pull out two poles on every job. A flip pad would solve this, I wish one of the wide body makers would make a clip on system like moerman…

Awesome, thanks for the links… I’ll study these

The last three videos I posted, put those together and that’s your answer!

I’ll one up you! Add a spray bar to the flipper pad and squeegee and hook it up to a wfp hose and one of these full of soapy water and never take the pole down even to rewet it!

I’ve done this before but I added a sprayer to a strip washer and just used two poles. One to soap and one to squeegee. The way I had the sprayer hooked up to it wasn’t the best so it didn’t work the best. I have been wanting to redo it. It’s mainly for jobs where you have a lot of second floor glass.

This one you can chance out your scrubbing pads.
