This is a very inspiring message to us all. Thanks so much for posting it!
I two have been…lets say… challenged at the mid 40’s stage in life. I ran a very successful painting biz in the northeast and was stricken with health issues as well as partner differences. I was miserable doing what I did even know I was making very good money at the time. I can confidently say since embarking on this new endeavor as of the fall 2013 I could not be happier cleaning windows and I most definitely feel the customers knew that I truly enjoyed what I was doing…they can sense it for sure… just as well as misery and burnout!
I plan to recover some of my old painting customer base for cleanings and instill my new attitude. I’m wise enough to know that I’m turning a new leaf over but I can’t ever really remember being as excited as I am now about going to work when I painted… even in the early years.
I think social networking is a powerful tool to use because it’s so common today.
We as window washers get to travel around the city and see things people in an office can’t.
Take a camera with you on the job and take pictures of your work or beautiful things you
come across but tie it in with window cleaning.
Take a photo, post it and in your flyers direct your clients to the social networking page.
A photo can also damage your reputation. Think twice when posting photos. They should be clean and inoffensive.
Use it to benefit your window cleaning business.
On the social networking site give it a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
That way clients can draw close to you. Add information regarding your business as well.
thanks for digging this up, i haven’t read read the thread just the op, it’s awesome and true.
we are just getting started for spring here and this morning i did the first job of the season.
