Stumbled Across This Video About Glass Coatings - Does anyone use a coating detector?

I know there are some high-tech versions of Glass Coating Detectors. Does anyone here use a glass coating detector? If you do, where do you use it? (Commercial, Residential, etc…) How often? Etc…etc…

I am not looking to buy one, it’s just that I am ignorant of them.

here is a post about them, but no one added anything.

It’s mainly for restoration work like water spot removal or even scratch removal. Most would use it for water spot removal. When trying to remove water spots you have two choices, abrasion or chemical reaction. Both will react or effect any coating on the glass and tin side will react with some acids used to remove silicate water spots.

The second detector looks pretty awesome and would be a big help with water spot removal as many windows and shower glass have coatings and the coatings on windows are becoming more prevalent. Having a detector that identifies what type of coating, if any, is on the glass, removes the guess work and trial and error.
