Straight Pulls With A Moerman Liquidator?!

Is this unorthodox and/or heresy? Been using the Moerman Liquidator with the excelerator handle for pole work and even used it with a wagtail handle for a period of time, but always ran into issues. With the excelerator, I just couldn’t seem to get the perfect close out on commercial frames over head. For the past couple of days I’ve been straight pulling with the Liquidator and the Moerman swivel handle and have been seeing ideal results besides just detailing the tops. No lines either since I’m pulling down with the leading edge forward. IS THIS ALLOWED?! Part of me feels guilty like I’m cheating or something. Anyways, would love to hear some feed back on this. Just needed to get it off my chest.

Nah, you’re fine Kenny G.

All I’ll say is that the Wag is so much easier to use straight pulling, which i will do depending on the application.

Liq strength does not lie in pulls, do might as well go with a smoother action with the Wag.

LOL. Whatever works for you man. Clean closeout on commercial high glass has always been the one weakness of this handle. I can pretty much negate it by using with an angle adaptor to give almost ledger type clearance and the other issue that doesn’t help is if you’re using the smaller rubbers (unger and Black Diamond). With these rubbers the clip tip sits almost flush with rubber edge and has absolutely NO give or flex at close out. Using Moermans own rubber or Ettore solves this issue.

I use nothing but Moerman now, and I detail all the time, even when I don’t have to, but I’m a detail freak. That’s why my customers love me. But I don’t detail with the Excelerator on the long pole, unless I’ve missed something really obvious.

It’s only Polzn Blades (Bob Hat) who says “no detailing is aloud”. It’s only a self imposed rule he sets on HIM-SELF. Detail to your hearts content my friend, and ignore him, and only think about what you have to do to keep your customers happy.

The point Bob is trying to make with his ‘no detailing’ game is that the more you practice, the better you get and subsequently the tool will perform for you to it’s optimum. Do I still have to detail from time to time? Of course, but it doesn’t stop me from trying to use the tool accurately enough so that I don’t have to. Ignore him? Really? He is the designer, tester, and driver of these tools. Who better to learn about these tools from?

Everything useful I have learned about the Liquidator has been from @Trad-Man and @TheWindowCleanse

I’ll rephrase that, ignore his self imposed rule, and detail until your hearts content.

Sorry Graeme I simply can’t buy that. If I have to ‘detail to my hearts content’ then I may as well have saved my money and stuck with my Unger 0° and Wagtail PC Flipper. Liquidator at the very least minimises the need to detail and with practice almost completely eliminates it… and that was what it was designed to do…

None taken man. Simply trying to keep the original purpose of the tool on track. …and I have been known to do straight pulls and use the detailing cloth more than is absolutely necessary but the ‘goal’ is not to…

A series of self-congratulatory techno montage videos that deride viewers with difficulties and offer no relevant instruction or guidance? :smiling_imp:

Credit where credit it due, I got some good tips from you too.

But I have yet to see anything helpful come from the tool’s father. I feel that channel can be safely ignored without losing anything.

Just thought I would add in my thoughts here…

When I first got the excelerator handle and liquidators channels, I thought the tool combination would be great. For a long time I was hoping that someone would design a tool combination like this for route work etc… about two weeks into using it I was so frustrated with it lets just say me and the tool combination parted ways at high velocity…

But come to find out it was operator error (dang muscle memory and impatience)…

I gave it another shot with the help of @TheWindowCleanse and @Trad-Man instructions I finally have the “little diva” (as I call it) working great saves at least 20-30% on my route which is money in the bank.

There are many other things about the tool I learned from @anon35812390 and even @Samuel.

When it comes to Bob (Polz and Bladz) I learned a lot from the guy, I like his determination.

I probably can write a novel on what I learned from all you guys but its 6am and I got to hit the route early today before the rain and snow starts flying today.

Thanks guys!

PS… the “little diva” likes ettore rubber!

I should’ve had patience with my little diva before I passed her on to @TheWindowCleanse. At least he can treat her better than I can. Lol

On topic: I use my 18" liquidator exclusively for straight pulls. It’s in an Ettore Ledge-Eze handle. With the fliq pad I can knock out certain pole work at a splendid pace.
