Stay hydrated while working

Yesterday day I was working inside a home and only drank 2 bottles of water In 9hrs it was not hot in the house so I thought that’s why I wasn’t sweating. Last night I woke up with muscle spasms from not having enough electrolytes in my system. I am now just feeling better after getting Gatorade in my system.
Moral of story do not starve you body of food, water, and electrolytes. You could find yourself in the hospital if you do.

Gallon a day…Better than gatorade is “honegar”…Mix equal parts
honey (good quality) and apple cider vinegar, mix well (can take a while) then dilute to
preferred taste. I do about 1/4 cup of the mix to 1 liter of water.

I agree i have to keep training myself to do it. I’m so fixated with getting the job done when on a resi, an when I’m doing my route my mind is where to next.
During the summer months always a cooler on board ok so it has a beer or two in it. Soooo

i’ll often stop drinking water when i need it cause i already have to pee and i don’t want to ask to use their bathroom.

That’s what bushes are for. Or just say your leg is wet from a drippy boab. :fearful:

Ugh. I’m gonna get so flamed for this…

Girls have “to pee”

I know it’s ridiculous, but I always use the generic term, “hit a bathroom.”
Or “use a restroom.”

My dad always said, girls pee, men piss...:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Work harder your body will adapt. Or get a 40oz big gulp cup and ask Haim regarding safety.

oh i have, i can go as long as six hours, but sometimes i finish one job with just enoigh time to get to the next one and not enough time to stop to pee

Throw a roof set and lay in a trough, or better yet shoulder a chimney and let it rip. Hose it down, and tell them there was some dirt up there.

I try to drink a lot of water in the morning. I bring a couple liters with me to drink on the job, but never really finish it.

Usually, I just ask if there’s a guest or basement restroom. The other cases are where when I’m doing an exterior when the tree/chimney stuff comes into play.

I used to hate asking to use the restroom . But I read in here a good suggestion . If youre going to be at a home for over 2 hours . I always ask ’ since I’ll be here most of the day , if I need to use a restroom which one can I use ? Then they’ll point to that restroom . That way , when you have to use it you are not asking for it .

Working in Florida hydration is a must. I’ve been packing a gallon jug every morning and darn near finishing it by 4pm. I take bathroom breaks whenever I feel like it (which is often). Working storefront it’s not tough to find a place. Residential jobs I do the same thing as GenaroGuzman. Right away ask which restroom is available for use. If I were doing something like landscaping or waste removal I’d be more shy about that. But we are window cleaners and, hopefully, clean people. No reason we can’t leave a restroom just the way we found it.

i’ve used a customers bathroom, i was mostly trying to be funny

Sorry I didn’t pick up on that. Cheers!

Mix it up with Gatorade and water. Too much water is not good either as it will dilute the sodium you need where Gatorade will keep it in check. We usually have a 32oz Gatorade and 3 or 4 waters each on the truck.

particularly bottled or otherwise filtered water-pure water good for windows bad for tummy.

I have a 2 litre bottle filled with water in the van, sometimes i take some added electrolytes.

If i need to pee/piss/wiz whatever - i usually go in the back of the van in a spare boab, and pur it on the garden, down a drain or whatever.

I wont go in a bush, i got caught one time - never again… so embarrassing.

I had a friend who drank heaps of those electrolyte drinks, I also started to replace much of my water with them, until he started having issues and those turned out to be kidney stones directly attributed to those drinks, our body does not need those additional salts they accumulate and give you health issues, I stopped drinking them all together, they are designed for top athletes not for every man and his dog, moderation is key, since they are 10-15% sugar.
