I need help with my web site. I am on a budget. Any good book suggestion for a guy that is forced to DIY due to lack ok funds. I am reading 600$/h and it has got me thinking.
Personally, I’m not sure I would get a book on SEO. Search engine optimization is constantly evolving, what was written last year won’t really apply to this year. I would read up on the most current information you can find on it. And its more important now than ever to avoid all those companies claiming they can put you at the number one spot on google over night. Google has gotten wise to their tricks, and they’ve really cracked down on sites that are “artificially” boosting their ranking (junk backlinks, etc)
The best thing to do is focus on high quality content, and keeping it fresh. The best way to do that is start blogging about your business. It can be about notable jobs you’ve done, or anything you think may interest potential clients. Use some keywords in your posts, but keep it natural. Don’t pack it full of keywords- Google will punish your ranking for that. You can also complete your signature on your profile here, including a link to your site. Do the same for any other forums you participate in. It should help a little.
Hell it seems like google changes every few months lol
