Send to quote a CCU, ground not even broken yet

So I get this call to go quote a new house that needs a CCU, drive out there which is 25km from my house, all I have is a lot number, area is developed so no lot numbers are there only street numbers after driving up and down for 10 mins decide to use google to see if it tells me where is was, go to that spot ask the guy he is clueless and tells me the only new construction was down the street I go there and people are already living in said house but no answer, so I ring up my contact, she then rang the building company to find out they had not even broke ground… so annoying builder wanted a quote for the glass off the plans I had to explain to them price depends on how much crap is on the glass
I have never done any work for this cleaning company but they rang me about another CCU they wanted done I quoted that one like I didn’t want to get it 144 panes of glass for $1728, stil yet to hear if i landed that quote, I sure hope not, so much tempered glass with concrete on it.

They were probably using you to give them a price to quote so that they could do the work, having no clue what to charge.
A few years ago a couple who has a cleaning service did that to me. Surprised I fell for it, but life goes on.

Could be budgeting give him a range

The Cleaning company is based in another state so I don’t think they are just price finding, I was told not to give them a ball park as they would likely hold me to that price.
