Resin regeneration

hi,

does anyone know whether you can regenerate your own di resin at home? There is a friend of mine who used to work in water treatment who says you can by flushing your resin in the canister with a brine (salt) solution.

Any ideas whether this is true?!

Thanks

alan

Alan Im sure Bill will jump in and give you a clearer answer, but if you watch this video it shows how its done. It can be done at home but I wouldn’t recommend it.

DI is made up of two different types of media cation and anion. Cation can be regenerated with salt, but you need acid to regen anion. The acid as you can see from the video is not something you want to play with at home. Safety first.
