Repositionable Promo Items (flyers, business cards, etc.)

Its out there. And there are different brands. Different chems. But you can coat the back of a business card with it and stick it anywhere. Then people can grab it and stick it to their plastic dash in their car or some other surface. Even a cardboard folder. I think the WCRA should come up with a service that offered repositionable flyers, business cards, or really any type of promo item. It would be so much cheaper than a magnet. And nothing is made from metal anymore.

Just a thought.

Is it static clingy? or just like rubberized texture? I’m intrigued. If you have a stack, do they stay a stack?

Ahhhhh. Be intrigued Will. Not static cling. Not rubberized texture. Rather controlled adsorption. (I did spell that correctly with a D) Repositionable sprays can be found at places like Hobby Lobby, Benjamin Franklin, and other art supply stores. I have even been able to find the pure chems online and have tested some of them. This would be a great product for us. I should make it the subject of my Insider newsletter. Here is something more. You know how people have those billboards with all those pushpins stuck in them? They look horrible. Well all you have to do is spray a quality repositionable adhesive all over the board. Then business cards can be stuck up and taken off a thousand times. No pushpins, no tape, totally clean. And yes if you spray the cards they will stay a stack. But you can peal them off one another easily. Cuz they stick back to face.

So if you spray a piece of paper over the entire thing except a corner, can you use that corner as a start to pull it off windows? How does it play with soap and water? I have a million customers (I wish) that tape paper to windows. Is that a viable alternative?

Yes Will. Spray the whole thing or the edges and leave one edge “clean”. I would fold up the edge or have the words pull off with this edge. There won’t be any residue left on the glass. It works best on small pieces of paper. Larger heavy sheets of paper or thin cardboard are too heavy and will fall off the glass in time. It has something to do with the temperature difference between outside and inside. When it is cold outside and the glass is single paned. I have tried so many ideas to get around tape. Most worked really well. But simply put people are dumb, don’t really care, and always revert to the old way of doing things. So on my route I just carry my big six inch, scrape off those nasty papers and tape, then throw them away. No remorse. If anyone asks they probably blame me. No one has said a word to me however. I do leave signs up that plainly belong to my customer.

Rubber cement works really well. Peels right off.

Exactly!!! Thank you. I remember getting a gallon sample of pure white natural rubber latex many years ago. It was a water based solution. Went on glass real well but pealed right off. I always thought it might be interesting to add it to some different paints. Then we might get a glass paint that would go on EZ but would peal right off with your fingers. I love playing with this stuff.

If anyone else does too check out this company. http://www.franklinadhesivesandpolymers.com/
I am going to put them on my blog. And more.

I don’t know if adding it to paints would work so well, but adding the pigment to the rubber May work. They do have different colored rubber obviously.
