Rain and Satisfaction guarantee contract

I was searching for sample rain and satisfaction contracts but couldn’t find any. How do you guys put them into the contracts?

I don’t do contracts. I just put a seven day rain guarantee on the website and let people know that I want to make sure they’re happy.

Is this something that only window cleaners in the desert offer or is it across the board?

I live in the subtopics and have a comprehensive seven day guarantee. Rain, bird poo, malicious vandalism (e.g. Paintball gun): all covered up to seven days. Still haven’t had a callback but people like the peace of mind, especially if they have planned an event and want the windows to be pristine.

I have a three day no spots if it rains guarantee in Massachusetts on storefronts. They almost never call.

7 Day Rain Guarantee. I guarantee it will rain within 7 days…LOL

But seriously, I do offer a 7 day; I tell folks that seem concerned at all that if it rains in seven days and splatters dirt on your window, call me and I will have it cleaned no later than end of the day. In eight years only one call and they were low windows that are less than a foot above ground level.

Dirty windows show rain spots and dirt, clean windows shed rain water.

Do you guys get daily afternoon showers North of the Skyway? Here we get rain almost every afternoon in the summers. It’s usually less than an hour in duration, and occurs sometime between 3 and 5 pm.

Just curious, if they did call after a rain and your schedule was completely booked how would you get back around? Make room I guess?

Once in 8 years is a great track record! With the time change there would be time at the end of the day to do a quick clean of splattered mud on - what - three or four windows tops? Again, 1 time in 2,920 days?

Last Summer daily rains came back to us. That had been missing for more than a few years - since before our last drought. Growing up we could tell what time of the afternoon it was by a brief shower.

That said, I’m mainly a commercial guy. I’m cleaning windows in the rain some days. Lol

They don’t complain?

No, but catch me when I’m getting rained on and I’ll complain all day! :disappointed_relieved:

I think the moral of the story thus far is that it doesn’t matter what the “contract” says, the customer just wants to know that if there’s an issue, you’ll take care of it.

In 7 years, I’ve only had one call back because of rain. Let the customer know that you want them to be happy and they won’t abuse the rain guarantee.

On the flip side - I also had a customer (huge home on the water) call to complain I missed a big spot on his second floor picture window overlooking the bayou. I go out there, ladder up with gear and discover that it is on the inside. His “housekeeper” does the insides; I see the same spots missed every quarter on the insides. I let him know it was on the inside…no apology, just a thanks for coming out. He was also 3 weeks over due paying. (Doctors). His response was “I’m a doctor and always pays my bills”. Laughable as all hell. My response was - “you haven’t paid this one.” We ended our working relationship there.

But I will still go back out and do my best to make my customers happy if at all possible.

If I got a callback for an outside only job (hasn’t actually happened to me yet) I’d want to advise them I’m happy to fix my own errors for free, but if it turns out the smudge is on the inside then they’ll be getting a bill for my time. Is that appropriate?

Well, it was the first time for this kind of call. Like I said, he was a pain anyway, so on to more deserving customers. If it comes up again with another I will suggest they check for which side of the glass before I return.

You don’t do your storefronts in the rain?

I bet a lot of people wouldn’t like it. Are you thinking over $50?

PS
Just one more reason I refuse ALL outside only jobs! Unless I’ve already done the insides myself not that long ago.
