Quickbooks Self Employed vs Housecall Pro

I just spoke with them. If the customer pays cash they get a receipt on the spot in their email.

It sounds like they like Quickbooks On-Line. She wasn’t sure about the less expensive Quickbooks Self Employed.

Quickbooks, Housecall Pro and the Bank all synchronized and working together on my book keeping. Sounds to good to be true.

Does Housecall have a way to track mileage and I would figure they have something for other expenses like gas and buying supplies?

Don’t know but Quickbooks Self Employed definitely does mileage and expenses. Credit Card and other on line transactions for accounts receivables too.

PS
I may end up with just Quickbooks Self Employed. My situation as a solopreneur with no employees is not very demanding so I’m hoping Quickbooks Self Employed will be able to handle my needs.

We use miles iq to track mileage.

If you have a storefront route, no residential I’d pass on HouseCall Pro… and I love it!

It sends texts when you’re on your way, finished, when you schedule it, etc. Most commercial jobs could care less at least where I’m at. Again, I love Housecall Pro, but if I was strictly commercial I’d stick with what I was doing before.

Joist and Xero.

I just switched to Quickbooks online because it integrates with HCP and I don’t like it as much as I liked Xero.

I track mileage and receipts with Expensify. $5.00 per month. It seems to recognize 95% of my receipts and the last 5 or so with QB I had to input some part of it manually.

It’s beautiful. I can open quickbooks app on my phone see P/L, the 4 bank accounts, business CC, etc all in one place without logging into 3 different apps. Quickbooks is a little clunky and requires not manual input on some things though.

I wish HCP integrated with Xero, but I won’t beat a dead horse since HCP and Quickbooks are both Intuit companies it’s not gonna happen.

For just route work I would just use QB. & have all your customers on , an xcell spread sheet

That’s what I do now.

Just found a side by side comparison of QB on line vs QB Self Employed. QB Self Employed is only about $10 a month. Looks like it would work for me. Anybody use it?

I agree with you there. I have to use the mobile website because the app keeps force closing on my phone. When I sent an email I was told that they were using the same phone (iPhone 6) with the latest iOS software (same as mine) and had no problems.

And yet the problem continues on mine…?

HCP does look more modern and I love the idea of it sending a text to the customer for you at the push of a button. You can start your travel time in CF but you still have to call or type out the text message yourself.

That being said, CF does make it easy to start drip campaigns with current customers. There a lot of good things about it, but it can be better.

Hey. I saw your comment about the app freezing. I work over at HCP and would like to see if I could help you and your problem. PM me so we can resolve this!
