Question: Cleaning Large Fireplace Glass In Mall

Has anyone had any experience cleaning large glass for a fireplace. This is in a mall and there are two sets of three glass sheets on each side. Each sheet is about 5 foot by 5 foot. The mall people take the glass apart for me to clean so I don’t have to worry about that.

The problem is that the propane or gas or whatever put a bit of haze on the glass almost as soon as they put them back in place. Is there anything I can do about that? Let them dry a little longer before going back in place?

I was told that this is the largest commercial fireplace in the country (at the time of install last year) so I feel cool being the guy who cleans it.

Could be similar to the borosilicate glass panel in my pellet stove. I just used a felt pad on a small wheel with a silica compound. I had tried a diamond compound too. Both worked. I also tried sealing. That helped a lot. But the bottom line was it needed constant maintenance. Like almost every day. I think you might be able to get away with once a week. If the mall would allow such a thing. Take a couple pictures. I would love to see it. You might also try different sealants like 3 Star, Invisible Shield, and Aquapel. There are of course many more.

Thanks. The problem is that it’s not sealed. It takes three guys, plus me, to take it apart and clean it so weekly isn’t an option. I’ve done it once before but I would like to do a better job. The cleaning is on Thursday, I’ll try to take a photo and post it.
