Pricing to clean Shower glass hard water stains

Hey All
What do you guys charge to clean shower glass. Im trying to figure a square footage price. I live in a rural county so pricing would have to reflect that. A bigger city could probably command a higher price.

As much as you can get. I would start at four bux a square foot. But before you start check out Bumbles posts.

I start at $195 and go up from there. It needs to be machined off mr hardwater systems is great

Bought it today! Can’t wait to get it. Thanks for the insight in our message exchange. Well, thanks to all of you really who are regulars and have shared your thoughts on mr.hardwater.

This is what Bumblebee wrote,

Be careful taking on shower doors. I have come across some doors where the homeowner has used every grocery store acid wash (CLR, etc.) out there and they have etched the glass. They don’t tell us they have even tried pool acid on the door before we arrived. Then we come along and start using our favorite secret formula, it doesn’t work so we break out the nuclear option, CC550. It doesn’t work, or turns the glass white reacting with the cocktail of acid the homeowner has used. Then you have to break out the grinder and do a restoration. What we thought was going to be a quick 100 bucks has turned into an all day pain in the ^$$. Then the customer starts whispering about insurance and a new door…

There is money to be made in shower doors, just make sure we tread lightly and examine the door carefully. Not to be insulting, but if we don’t know what we are doing and are carrying around chemicals we have little experience with and we really don’t know how to use, but someone told you about it, get informed…unless you want a collection of doors at home to practice on.

Really good advice!

Start with Charging gas mileage 30 cents a mile, Then charge 100 bucks an hour or if it only takes 15 minutes charge enough for the hours you are their and drive time.

Was up Henry!! My old friend from IWCA forum!! Member we was the ones talking restoration like crazy like 10 years ago. Hahaha Hit me up on my cell 702-275-9091

Thanks for the replies, has any of you used the glass renu kit? it looks like a great product and worth the money if you can clean several showers.

Hey J,

When it comes to kits my suggestion is to talk with a lot of people about the different kits. As many people as you can. Especially those that have bought them. We have a lot of people on this forum. Most however are too kind and won’t give you too much negative feedback. But you need that. Then ask really good questions.

Oh, Henry is right. Best thing to do is buy the product and do your own testing on a sheet of glass that has Calium, Lime or Silica build up on it… If signs of silica make sure you charge a lot cause it will take you at least an hour per pane. Silica is made of glass and once both bond it is about impossible to make clear again unless your patient. Lots of elbow and grease!! Always do a test sample for the customer and so it will also show you how long it takes to take of a small area of the glass.

Ive used Mr. HardWater Kit for about 4 years and love it. It definitely takes time with shower doors depending on the level of damage but Ive had great results. Just used GlassRenu for a fix job where a spot was burnished into glass with bronze pad from MHW. Came out great but also time & patience. Definitely seal the glass after you restore it. I use Envicoat/now Mr. Hard Water Sealant. Was turned on to Enduroshield from this forum but haven’t tried it yet. J Flint price of $150-250 per shower door set inside only works pretty well in many cases from what Ive experienced.

Not enough lubricant, surface became to hot.

Good post…
