Photographing glass

I currently use my phone and set it to manual so i can adjust the focus to be on the dirt for before pictures. But many times depending on the lighting and background, you can’t get a good picture of the window because the camera wants to see through the window. Do you guys have any tips or tricks for taking good pictures of glass?

Oh man I’m subbing this thread. If only I could take a picture(s) of the surface of a window.

It’s easier if there’s something on it, like a milkshake. But no, I don’t really have anything helpful cuz I suck at taking pictures.

Gotta love glass shots

Just take a regular picture, then use photoshop to smoke the glass a few percentage points in the “before” shot.

Helps me to try to get a shot with a clean versus a dirty. Just to show the difference

I like when you catch the clouds or the sun at an angle. Abstract window photography is pretty cool.
