I asked the customer why no fish. The tree guy sprayed , An killed them alll. :scream: He said , he lost the case in court. Didn’t really get into why , but man he said he had big Taro a bunch of big Taro. We know what they cost He said he buried them. :sleepy:
Felt bad for the guy.

No worries. He promised it would never happen again.

Sorry to hear about the fish! I know the homeowner was very upset.

Sorry to hear that.

It’s a big job for us, more for the fact a friend recommended us to the cleaning company that hired us. They want to pass on all future window cleaning jobs to us. It’s paying well, but it would’ve paid better if not for the fact we have re clean the first floor windows.

It’s a Brazilian client, and if you speak their language even if you’re not Brazilian AND they like you, you’re in for good so we have that going!

I would get the pest control guys number and figure something out with him, that’s annoying just thinking about it.

My wife went back and redid them as I loaded up the car and chatted with the homeowner. They were very happy with our work and he gave us each $100 tip :money_mouth_face:

The bug sprayed the windows of a basement once in a job. They were hard to get to being in a tight culvert. (I think I described that right.) I don’t know if he couldn’t reach or couldn’t fit, but he sparayed ALL OVER the windows. I hate redoing my work, but even more, I hate fixing other people’s stupidity.

It was 22 panes total that I redid. Neither the homeowner nor the lady from the cleaning company that hired us said we should redo the windows, but the homeowner obviously wasn’t happy with what happened. I figured half an hour extra on the job was worth the impression we would leave. And the tip really made it worth it

It sucks when that happens , but you just got a client for life . This incident just put you guys in a whole other category than every other cleaning company in your area. This client is going to be telling everyone about you guys . Job well done :+1:t4:

You’ve won a definite referral from her. Something like that people tend to talk about. :+1:t2:

Yes a good client was having a wedding at his house and i washed the windows and in his stress for the event he then powerwashed and messed the windows up. They called me and i went and fixed it with an apology praying hed figure it out! He figured it out and couldn’t believe i bit my tougue

This happens all the time. It has taken years of incidents like these before I learned to just let it go. It’s out of your control and not your mistake. Sometimes we’re nice and re-clean. In a situation like that it’s definitely on the bug company. They need to inform their customer that they make a mess on windows and to get it cleaned within two weeks. Some solutions they use are like glue if they bake for to long.

The trick: incorporate the I don’t give a f model while retaining the customer and not reducing years off your life due to stress.

I always try to pay attention for other contractors who show up when I am working on a job. If it’s a bug guy, lawn guy, painter etc. I always approach them politely and find out what their approach is and let them know which windows have been cleaned.

Most of the time their cool about it and understand. Every once in a while a get a guy with an attitude who doesn’t give a crap. If I get that guy then I inform the customer that his work could potentially mess up the work that has been done. Once I do the job or inform the customer of the potential to mess up the work then it’s not my responsibility to reclean for free.

It’s probably a good rule of thumb to ask customers before hand if they have any other contractors coming out while you will be there. That way you can catch it ahead of time.

Good information because many people try to schedule projects together.
