Out sick

So, been sick all week. I awoke Sunday morning about 3 a.m. feeling a respiratory issue in my chest. It progressively got worst as the week went on; fatigue, bad cough to the point my abdomen hurts when I cough, and well - you know, other stuff that goes with it. :frowning:
Moved all jobs to next week and the week after. If I feel better in time I will certainly feel it with the tight schedule.
Stopped into Urgent Care this morning and the Doc called in some meds for me. He was telling me that since January they have seen 4,000 cases of the flu come through their two clinics. Usually it stops about March but they are still getting people this late in April!
6 days out of action and Doc says at least 2 more days of bed rest. He suggested 10 hours each of sleep. Yea, ainā€™t happening, the cough only allows about an hour or two at a time.
Last Saturday the short-term rental behind me had a pool party and some girl was hacking bad. Iā€™m sure that damned bug wafted across the fence and into my lungs!
Stay healthy you muntin lovers.

If you can talk to your doctor again, have him prescribe teslon pearls. They will stop you from coughing.

Yep, Benzonatate 200mg.

that stinks.

i was sick for like 4 weeks it was horrible. that was after urgent care and two rounds of meds. hit our area pretty bad.

Ouch! Hope that the meds do the trick. Luckily business has been good up to this point, but losing workdays in Spring is no joke when Summer slowdown comes along.

Thanks. It seems to be better, at least have most of my strength back and the coughing is far less frequent and deep.
Hope to hit the ground running Monday or Tuesday.

Apparently one week down isnā€™t enough; feeling a bit of a relapse. Did a little research on acute bronchitis and average 3 week recovery! The way I feel this morning, I donā€™t see work happening in the next two days for sure.

New guys take note: Self employed sick days are not the same as corporation sick days - hence one of the reasons we NEED to charge $100+ per hour. We are funding more than just to the next paycheck. Ugh.

well hopefully it passes sooner than mine did!

Dang Garry just get over this bug you got!

The old saying ā€œrub some dirt on or drink water lots of water and youā€™ll be fineā€.

Get some rest man donā€™t stress the work it will be there when your better. Focus on getting better.

I know the work will be there. Lost my voice with this last week, made a few calls today and customers are waiting. One partial clean is an open house for the weekend. May lose that, but that is cool with me. After this I am sure that I have never had bronchitis before. It is brutal guys!

@Garry Hope you feel better soon!

Did a small one hour job today. (10 days off my feet). I canā€™t believe how much bronchitis takes it out of you! Doesnā€™t help that I have a small umbilical hernia too, and have been coughing while holding it in!
What started out as a great Spring is turning into the Spring from hell!

sorry garry :frowning:

Sorry to hear that man. I have heard bronchitis does take a lot out of you.

I got one of those from coughing back in January. Sucks to be sick. Hope your recovery kicks into high gear. Also, look into short term disability insurance. It will pay you something when you have a situation like this. I was out 6 weeks once with a herniated disc and then when I did a yearly insurance review my agent was mad that I never made a claim. I didnā€™t know! I thought it was only for major stuff but he said itā€™s for anytime I canā€™t work due to illness or injury.
