What is a secret tip(s) for your add-on?

Power washing is mine, which I started this past April.

Pros:

  • It is about double the price of WC. In other words, if both services take me an hour, WC will yield half of what PW will.
  • There are many facets to the industry - soft wash, roof wash, fleet wash, flatwork, wood/decks, rust removal, parking garages, kitchen exhaust.
  • More dramatic Before/After results, since working with much dirtier surfaces than glass.

Cons:

  • The inital startup costs for PW are vast.
  • It is physically more demanding.
  • It’s noisy, dangerous, carries greater liability and requires much more research and knowledge so as to do it correctly.
  • It is also challenging to find the answers you need in a timely fashion.

Secret tip:
Proper setup = greater profitability.

Dont skimp on equipment. Have the right setup for the job at hand (gpm, psi, heat, pumps, proportioners, tips, etc).

For example, I am not setup for housewashing so I would need to buy the proper soft wash equipment. Some try to clean concrete without heat and with low gpm.

I’ll go with high dusting

Did it at my previous place of employment for as long as I can remember.

Pros:

  • you can do much of it with your current pole systems

  • pays better than window cleaning

  • easy work, no training needed

Cons:

  • its dusty work obviously lol

  • in large manufacturing and processing plants your will be required to use and set up and move constantly huge drop sheets to cover machinery

  • its very irregular and normally gets put off until its THICK!

The only real cost is for the feather dusters and the tape to tape the dusters to the pole, a good back pack vac lasts years I have had mine for over 5 years still going strong.
I did a job on Monday where I was on $140/hr for high dusting and gave them the option of me cleaning up the mess for an additional $100/hr or leaving it for their cleaner, they had me do it.
It was probably my easiest job of the week.

No real secret its high dusting/vacuuming some times you need to use a scissor lift to get on top of the large AC vents, empty the vac regularly, cover sensitive crap you will be surprised by some of the shit that falls from some places that haven’t been cleaned in 10+ years.

@Steve076 This is really cool. Totally unexpected response but very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Is the market for this service mostly factory/ Warehouse applications?

Pretty much, I had the rafters of a band hall on Monday, 30 years worth of dust and animal crap, anything high up most general cleaners/janitors won’t do due to insurance.

I’m looking for content for the Versus series.
