New Trailer Finally Done!

You guys are funny. All depressed because someone else’s setup is totally awesomer than yours, lol. IDK, I’m still pretty happy with my setup :). I was inspired by this trailer rig, though. Very nicely done

You guys will get a laugh from this, I did my first job with the new trailer today. House wash and deck cleaning. I used some F10 precarb to clean the one of the small decks in a pump up sprayer but then I stepped on the wand breaking it, so I downstreamed the next one. Anyway long story short riding home some how the built up pressure caused the sprayer to spray all over the inside of the trailer. So when I backed in to the driveway suds came rolling out the doors.
At least the trailer floor is clean now:cool:
and I am humbled once again.

That’s great, man!!!

Now tell me truth…
You sometimes just sit in the trailer and admire your work, don’t you?

  • come on, admit it.

I WOULD!

You will impress the hell out of your clients. Great job.

I would never do that…

But seriously… I do that
Joe

lol. That made me smile.

I figured as much.

Yeah that’s a really nice setup you got going there especially inside. But do you find that it might be hard to get setup on some jobs? It seems like it might be hard to back up into certain places…

Yea, for sure. I was a carpenter for years and I had a trailer this same size. Most of the time it was great, but it was a pain having to pull it everyday, park, find a place on a tight site, etc. That is why I really wanted a van. I think that would have been perfect for me, I have a lot of things in the trailer I don’t “need” but I have the space so they are in there.
But this is what I was able to do with the time and money I had. Probably 95% of my work is with in 10 minutes of my house and in pretty open suburbs. So I think I can make it work.

Hey if it works work it…

You are just saying this to make us feel better  nice try

I’m a new guy who has been lurking around, reading the insightful articles and discussions here, trying to brush up on my glass cleaning knowledge as I start my new business after spending over 30 years in construction. This thread motivated me to finally sign up so I could post.

Joe, that is one awesome setup! And I know first hand how much effort went into that too. About 11 years ago I bought almost the same trailer (Wells cargo with dual axle actually) and spent probably two weeks carefully designing and installing shelving, cubbies, mounting equipment, running lighting and outlets, etc. While my setup has nothing to do with window cleaning, I can say that if your experience is anything like mine, you will be the talk of the town. For years, whenever I pulled up to a job and opened my doors, people would gather and drool. I always had everything I needed in there, and, when I needed to go pick up materials or if I just wanted to take off for the weekend, I could just unhook it and go. Parking was difficult sometimes but always worth the trouble.

Anyway, your setup is way cool and I can relate!! I would post a photo of mine but considering the fact that it was just 3 weeks ago that I made the very sudden decision to throw in the towel (trade up for squeegee?) after over 30 years, when I left my last job, I literally threw everything in the back door and haven’t done anything to it since, so it’s a mess. I’ll try to post one when I straighten it up and right before I gut it and set it up for my new business!!!

Again, seeing your setup had me jumping out of my seat. When you see the similarities in mine, you’ll understand why!

New guy here…just got a 6x12 trailer with barn doors and I want to set it up like yours…i’ve watched your video over and over…great job!..its been a few years now, how has it worked out, what did you change and do you have pics of the wall of shelves? and what are the size of storage boxes you used…thanks!

Put me down. Geeze I am very organized and this year I just bought a van to set up. I have searched and searched of so many vans, trucks and trailer setups and I get good ideas but not impressed with the overall organization with anyone’s. I will say I felt your pane with my truck as it was loaded down with not much extra space and having to unload every night was a pane. I love how organized your trailer is and it looks so clean. Well for now haha. I know I will not have as much space in my van but I will be watching your setup as much as possible. Thanks for sharing

Share your setup ?

Great job! Nice and clean. Where’s the washer dryer for the towels?

When I pull it out of storage in the spring I’ll try and shoot some video. Pretty basic/cobbled together setup, but I think it could provide some inspiration for the guys wanting to get their feet wet in PW’ing.

Edit: here’s a few pics from last year, as a teaser

Thanks for posting it does look clean. I appreciate being able to take a look as I plan my Van setup.

Thanks for the kind words guys. The trailer did a good job, but I actually sold it after a year.
It was great having so much stuff available, but i found that most of it was just storage. On a daily basis I probably used less than 5% of the stuff I was carrying around. I also hated hooking up the trailer everyday, but I knew this going in.
Also I started doing way more pressure washing, probably 80% of my business. I had a chance to get an open trailer so I jumped on it. Now I run an open trailer for pressure washing and am back to just the truck for windows.
I need to get some tool boxes for the truck and set it up like I had my old pick up. And then I am going to re work the PW trailer this year because I added a roof rig and bigger chemical tanks.
I have also figured out through this all that I really enjoy doing trailer build outs, it is just fun to me.
Anyway if I can help I am happy too, the boxes in the video were from walmart, just bought them in the storage section.
If you need anymore info, just let me know.
Joe
